106. Actually, I would advise not seeing the sequels because Energon was puerile garbage. The only good bits were the villains, and they don't get nearly enough screen time.

Assassin's Apprentice has been sitting unread on my bookshelf for months because while I love her writing, I'm worried that my enjoyment of it would be hampered by what I now know about her.

LOL, Josh and Donna are one of my favorite TV couples, but I go back and forth between thinking they're the cutest thing in the world, and thinking that there was something quite wrong there. I understand why it was put off by the writers out of shark-jumping fear, but I think it was handled badly. If I recall correctly, Sorkin wanted to wrap it up at the end of season 4, which I think would have made it feel much more organic, but instead the new PTB kept it going. It ended up portraying him, IMO, as a jerk who expected her to stick around and wait for him to figure out what it was he wanted, until she'd finally had enough.

123. I agree. I loved her in early episodes. I hated her toward the end. Her sexuality was irrelevant to me, I just didn't like the person she became. I thought she was manipulative and controlling and bitchy. And not in a fun way like Cordelia or even Anya. Although, sometimes, I wonder if I would have liked her better if they had put her with a girl I liked..

139. I feel way too strongly about this issue too. It was especially harsh having this briefly discussed in class and realizing that most of my professors (professors!) were uninformed. Atticus Finch is my moral role-model, so I try to take the "disagree without being disagreeable" approach, especially in regards to something so light as fandom opinion.

But OMG y'all, he was stealing her WORDS! He's like some evil, reverse-librarian! He is betraying the Order to which I aspire!

It makes me want to take her, sit her down, and explain that no, your characters are supposed to be flawed. I didn't realise she didn't know that. I didn't realise anyone didn't know that (at least, not anyone who's coerced editors into publishing a series of their books).

Bizarrely I just had this conversation with a friend the other day. It makes me sad that such an amazing writer has such a harsh stance on fanfiction, especially given that her reasons for it are completely ridiculous.

I've read the Farseer and Tawny Man books, but I haven't touched anything else of hers and I'll definately never buy another one.
