Anon, I believe the point the director/writer is trying to make is that Oskar WILL become that old man. That old man was previously in Oskar's position, and yes, he died protecting her. (Who was actually born a male in the books.)

So the movie is about her manipulating him. It addresses adolescent love affairs and how tangled they can be. Compound this with the fact that the object of desire is neither human nor a child and you get a beautifully complex look at the character of Oskar.

Ravenous (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0129332/), with Guy Pierce and Robert Carlyle. It's awesome. Kind of dark humor. Cannabilism makes a person super strong and hard to kill. Guy Pierce is trying to fight the bloodlust; Robert Carlyle is... well... not.

I highly recommend it. (It also has an excellent soundtrack.)

105. That happened to me ages ago, though the communities kind of killed themselves by not having any rules about betas and checking over your fic, so we had a lot of crap being posted anyway. I don't really miss it, some things went down in the fandom that put me well off RPF.

I am starting to hate that pairing not because of the "change McKay" angle...but because I can't see why someone would get annoyed by everything about McKay so much yet still be attracted to him. He's just way too obnoxious and stubborn and probably wouldn't put even a lover above himself. I say that as someone who LIKES him the way he is!

I don't really like romance in the Stargateverse either. It became a big problem for me towards the end of SG1 and it's happening again here.

I had the same problem with the Sam/Jack ship as well. I don't have any trouble with the ship itself, but I really didn't find it compelling on the screen. It had nothing to do with their mission, nor did it particularly fit into their character arcs. It was almost like they got to season 7 or whatever and thought, hey, you know what we haven't tried yet? Team romance. Let's give it a spin and see if it works... oh hey, not really, okay, let's forget it then. Let's have them kind of forget about the whole thing and go back to the way they were before with no residual awkwardness.

143. I'm a H/W Shipper and I don't think either of them are gay (both do very 'gay' things, but what defines if you're gay or not is not how you act but what sex you're attracted to. Wilson I see as straight but House I don't think gives a damn when it comes down to it., but prefers women sexually). But, I believe in love, not sexuality. LONG RAMBLE IS A+ I was going to quote all the things I agreed with and ramble on to the extent on which I did, but then I realized it'd probably just be easier to tell you YES to the whole thing.

But, because I can't help myself, I have to agree especially with: I think it's more so House with the crush on Wilson and waiting for something than Wilson for House.

Everyone says Wilson's the "gayer" one or whatever, and while yes, the man puts product in his hair and occationally talks about feelings, that doesn't mean he's the one who's pining. Not that I think House is pining, but I do, to a certain extent, truly believe that House loves Wilson "that way".

I don't care if it makes me sound like a crazed shipper or anything, but the way House treats Wilson is often very similar to the people he's canonly been attracted to (Stacy, and lately Cuddy...), and some things even surpass them, like his going through with the DBS with a cracked skull because Wilson asked him to. It just seems logical to assume that House cares more for Wilson than anyone else (except maybe himself. At least usually. XD)

LMFAO what interactions do they have on stage that would lead anyone to ship them? I think people got over that when they moved on from playing Golden Pair. Anyway. The Nagayan/Tuti shippers that I've come across do use their acting onstage as basis for their ship--even while they are acting as Hitsugaya and Gin. I find this just as baffling as you do.

And I definitely never alluded to theatres guys not being gay, or gay for each other or whatever. Uh, at all lol.

I figured it would only make sense for them to have their own SPESHUL SUBTITLE; it's the most they're getting out of me :P

103 - I was more turned off by how unrelievedly pretentious it seemed, myself. I picked it up in a store when I stumbled across it and read a few more pages, after hearing about it on fandom_wank. Oh my god. The internet may have desensitized me to the point where I can ignore everything but the most extreme of kinks and fetishes in fiction, but that doesn't stop the voice/style and unrelentingly depressing plot from coming together in like a perfect storm of pretentious asstardism.

132 - I think a lot of feminists (though I only speak for myself) understand that there's a difference between when you like in fantasy and what you like in reality.
