Also, it’s definitely not better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. It’s knowing what you’re missing, and knowing it can never be that way again, that hurts the most.

Yeah, and that applies to anything that ended horribly where old people are like "well, you were lucky to have the experience at all." No I'm not, fuck you, grandpa.

yeah Shakespeare can shove that platitude right up his ass. to have had the experience and just be thankful that you did takes a special sort of personality that is generally immune to lasting effects of grief and regret. we can't all be so goddamnfucking perfect and enlightened.

The world runs on morning people's schedules, and that's in my opinion stupid. Other than hospitals and such things that must be open 24 hours, which can then have shifts of people to accommodate different people's sleep needs, other things should be much more flexible. The fact that most normal jobs are 8 to 5 is silly. I think there should be a range, like 8-10 and 5-7 and then things can be worked out based on needs of individuals and companies. But no, we've all just decided to run the world on morning people's schedules and we're just fine with non-morning people being less effective in those early hours when they could instead work later hours where they would be more effective.

As someone who only recently got diagnosed with a fairly severe case of Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder, holy shit do I ever agree.

Agreed. I work 11-7 and it's made my life so, SO much better because I'm not trying to force myself awake when my body doesn't want to be. I'm way more productive when I can run on my body's natural schedule instead of one that's being imposed on me even though it's not natural for me at all.

I agree with you.

I haven't said it anywhere because it feels like such a petty complaint when compared to everything else going on, but I'm kind of annoyed that grocery stores aren't open 24 hours anymore. Like, I get that right now employees need time to restock the shelves and clean, but I get the impression that it's not ever going to go back to the way things were and that sucks.

I don’t understand why this is controversial. I know it IS, but I’ll never get WHY. Can’t people like different foods? Nobody fights about what other people put on their hot dogs or ice cream sundaes. Why is pineapple pizza somehow this huge deal?

I like most types of pizza, very much including the types that have pineapple. I wouldn't order pineapple on a pizza that didn't come with it, but I also wouldn't order no pineapple on a pizza that came with it.

People shouldn't be able to own property they're not living in. Everyone should be able to afford to own a property to live in, and if they can't they should just be given one because being homeless is not going to motivate anyone to do better in life, it keeps you down.
Landlords are a remnant of class oppression and shouldn't still be a thing.

I wish people would be more careful with their language. Every time I've brought it up, I've been told I'm "overly sensitive" and "being too politically correct". The English language has a loooooooot of words, and it's really not that hard to just think before you speak, and choose words that aren't hurtful to POC/LGBT+ people/people of other religions than Christian/poor people/whatever. I mean, I get that some people don't realize the history or connotation of certain words, but when they're told and their response is "you're overreacting/being too sensitive"...UGH.

I mentioned this here before and gotten yelled at for it, so I'm guessing it's controversial.

I'm annoyed when people say "you only regret the things you DIDN'T do." Like, okay, I'm sure that's true for some people, but not for everyone. I can't think of anything I regret NOT doing, but I can think of plenty of things I DID do that I regret.

Men who wear makeup and skirts are very manly. It takes balls to wear whatever the fuck you want and I respect it immensely. That confidence is also super hot.

I don't think there's anything intrinsically wrong with living at home your entire life. If you have a mutually satisfying relationship with your family, everyone contributes to the household in meaningful ways, and everyone is happy, I don't think that's anything to be mocked. Not everyone enjoys living alone? I just don't understand the societal obsession with independence.

Minors on tumblr are coddled. All a minor has to say is "I'm uncomfortable" and they get to end the conversation and anyone against them gets painted as a creep or a bully.

I once watched some kid crowing about the idea of calling women some old school word for "slut" over shipping and a bunch of ppl jumped to defend them as "a minor uncomfortable about a ship that (anti 'moralistic' nonsense)"

I don't want minors to be harassed or stalked or anything I just wish people could gently tell them "hey that's uncool don't do that" instead of screeching "but they're a minor!"

Frankly it makes me uncomfortable how easily I can be painted as an irredeemable asshole or creep for not bowing down to some stranger who says they're under 18.
