Because Edward Elric is the only person who's ever been named Edward, amirite? I mean, if his name was like Snorklypoospecialawesomegorgeouspants or something and then Smeyer named her character Snorklypoospecialawesomegorgeouspants, I'd see a reason to be pissed off, but Edward is hardly an uncommon name. There are a lot better things to hate Twilight for.

141. I love it! I love it! I love that show soooo much! I just started watching it last week or so; at first I hated it because Arthur was a bully but by the second episode he became the greatest prince EVER. Every character is AWESOME and every week they go out and slay a griffin or an evil fairy or whatever and that's so satisfying but they still have layers, only the layers are awesomeness and adorability and I watch it with my mom now and I want to wear Morgana's pretty dresses and Merlin has ears like mine and Obama's, SQUEEEEEEEE!

Oh, and the Arthur cartoon I had growing up had football players. Going back in time. And becoming King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.

Somehow Arthurian legend survived.

But now I don't have your respect. Oh well... I guess watching more Merlin will cheer me up! :D

WHAT

I love the show's take on Gwen/Guinevere. I've never seen her as anything less than a lady/noble before, so I find her character refreshing and different. And...a Mary Sue? Her? Sigh. People throw around Mary Sue far too much. It's becoming a catch-all for characters they simply don't like.

I realize this is late, but as the person who posted that secret earlier, it wasn't a troll secret. Hate is hate, and hate is wrong. Obviously queer people and people of color have been subject to institutionalized hatred throughout history and furries have not, so they're nowhere on the same level. That doesn't mean that it isn't utterly stupid to preach fairness and equality for those groups and ostracize another, even if you think they're "icky".

141. The changes aren't as big as you'd think. The oldest versions of the story have Arthur being brought up by Uther, apparently, for one thing. Other than that, they've mostly changed the characters backstories, but... are you sure it's for the worst? If you actually think about it beyond a 'IT'S DIFFERENT AND THEREFORE BAD' thing, well... personally, I've fallen in love with Arthur and Guinevere, now that she's a servant, which I never did before. The Merlin/Arthur dynamic is wonderful - that's pretty much what the fandom is based around - and they wouldn't have got that without making some changes.

I admit, though, that they shouldn't have started killing knights. NOT SIR BEDEVERE!

110: I read a huge amount of SGA fic without having seen the show. The show clears up a few things, like some of the terms they use, but I didn't watch beyond the third episode of season 2 because it didn't interest me. I still love SGA fic, though.

Once, I was at a convenience store where they had such a display, and, as I was filling out the donation card, I noticed all the ones at the register were from Osama Bin Laden, Donald Rumsfeld, George Bush, Whitey Bulger, etc. The last time I did a charity walk, my buddies chipped in under their own fake names or fake interest groups.
