I don't understand why every "good" fantasy series must be held up and compared to HP like that (or Twilight for the I WILL LOSE RESPECT FOR YOU IF YOU LIKE THIS BUT NOT THIS secrets); can't you just enjoy HP for what it is and enjoy your TamPierce series of choice (Tortall books ftw) for what it is without having to compare?

I mean, I could make a bunch of secrets being like OMGZ Y DOESN'T ANYONE READ OUTLANDER/DAVID EDDINGS I DON'T RESPECT U but srsly, what would be the point? Can't you enjoy something for what it is without feeling insecure or pissy about it?

I just don't get it.

152: I'm over 30, my introduction to anime was watching Akira raw, I don't think of myself as an otaku because I spend more time on Western SF, and I still watch anime regularly. What does age have to do with it? If you dropped out of the hobby because you don't have time for it, fine, but don't blame it on your age.

116. I love Tamora Pierce books so much. I probably enjoyed Harry Potter more, tbh, but there is definitely a place in my heart for all the Tamora Pierce books

I may disagree with a lot of what she says, but she's a good person, one of the most tolerable conservatives I've met, and there are plenty of liberals (including on ontd_p) who really obnoxious. Although I will never get her love for Anne Coulter and Michelle Malkin. Sry grl.
