151 - I'm a new fan, and at the very least, new fans are very welcoming. I've never had any problems on LJ comms - everyone seems really positive. Just have to stay away from the wankery on message boards with the hardcore fanboys. But that's the same with most things.

omg are you serious? men watch shows and movies that are just as stupid. What you watch to relax doesn not say anything about how intelligent you are. In fact, enjoying a show like The View doesn't even mean that you don't enjoy watching intellectual shows as well. It just means you enjoy a variety. Women don't have to be exactly like men to be equal to them. And p.s...i think it shows less 'intellectual equality' to be catty and judge people based on somehting as stupid as their television choices. I used to hate Anzu, but now I don't care about her and merely find her annoying. The thing I do hate about Anzu are the people who ship her with Malik because they think he loves her just because he used her to get to Yugi. By that logic, he loves Jonouchi and Mokuba as well! Then again, I was an elitist cunt for the longest time because I watched 'serious anime' with 'serious plots'. I soon grew out of that when I found fandom and the lulz it contained.

Really though, I don't think what you're doing now is going to change his mind... and if it does, it kinda says something about how he views relationships (which isn't good and means you probably shouldn't stick around with him anyway). I think you need to reevaluate your own view of relationships too. If they're based on looks only, they're bound to be unfufilling. And it's unfair to expect someone else to play out your fantasies of a fictional character, because they're not him. This guy may just have been out for casual sex, when obviously it wasn't just that for you - perhaps next time you can try to make your intentions more clear to minimize any miscommunication and false assumptions.
