Yeah, as much as I'd like to ship Maka and Chrona, I can't see it as anything other than platonic. (And COMPLETELY ADORABLE EEEE.) The series seems to be all about the Maka/Soul.

109. The dub is really that bad? I didn't want to watch it because Caitlin Glass as Haruhi just turned me off. Seriously FUNi, you have at least 3 more VAs who would have been more appropriate and had better acting skills than her =\ And I will not get started on Mignogna.

But trust FUNi in other cases! They do make good dubs =) I think they should stay away from the shoujo though since they haven't had much success with those for some reason.

103. I don’t agree with the glorified cosplay part, but I’m inclined to say that I do believe musical adaptations kind of scare me. It has nothing to do with the fact that they’re adaptations of manga, but merely because their quality isn’t all that great and that…well, some things are better left in their mediums.

109. Really? I’ve never seen the series, but I actually heard that the dub was alright. Not great, but alright.

103) THIS is an appropriate reason to dislike musical adaptations of manga, as many people feel the same way. I haven't run into a musical series I really like for itself (rather than the actors) since TeniMyu, but I don't find it creepy so much as not worth fangirling.

They're all pretty low-budget/low-quality compared to Western musicals (and even compared to Japanese performances of Western musicals), so I can see where people would be turned off to the lower end stuff that's more marketed towards (female) fans of popular series.
