Pure gaming (though some of the streamers I watch usually have a little 'just chatting' thrown in). I casual stream but it's more to hang out with friends, I am not looking to turn it into a career lol. The stress behind it (that I have seen from hanging out with people who do do it professionally) is insane. The people who come into chats with expectations and a pole rammed so far up their ass... honestly, I don't think I could handle it.

I watch Overwatch League. I watch recorded livestreams more than I watch them live. Mostly because I forget about them 99% of the time.

The only streamers I've watched are like... my long-distance friends I only ever get to see at conventions, who started accounts on Twitch with the pandemic so all their friends can together make fun of the games they're playing. Usually there's like 3-5 of us hanging out and BSing and occasionally interjecting about what our cats are doing.

I miss Vinny. :( I hope his legal action is going really well and that he's taking care of himself.

I've been watching a lot of supergreatfriend lately too. He's really charming, and tries to be positive about even the stuff he doesn't like, which is nice.

A few gaming streamers, though I mostly catch the YouTube uploads these days. Watching the streams live often stresses me out because I can't keep up with chat and the gameplay, but when I don't read chat I get FOMO and can't enjoy the gameplay.

Nope. I do not.

tbh about 50% of that is because my laptop will overheat and shut down if I try, but it's just a convenient excuse so I don't have to explain that the other half is, I just don't want to watch people game. Or draw.

I'm a big fan of OustideXbox and OutsideXtra, both gaming Youtube channels who have started doing more streams since the pandemic hit. Their streams of Two Point Hospital, Animal Crossing and Bloodborne were great because they gave me something to look forward to during lockdown. (Also, I don't own a Switch so can't play ACNH myself, but I got so attached to Luke's villagers).

I have a friend who streams, so sometimes it's music and other times it's gaming (or those interactive new games? Idk) so I'm on it mostly to watch them. Through them, I've found other steamers who do music related stuff, others just do casual gaming and have some music and convo, but they're not the type having a 600+ viewership. So it's more low-key.

I also enjoy cooking streams. Or people making stuff (clothes, metallurgy, whatever).


I've thought about streaming, but I'm way too private and i can't think of what I would possibly do other than midnight cooking. Also, again, I wouldn't want people in my work/field finding me and proof of me acting like a fool etc. Because I'm sure that someone i know would find me lol. And so even it's under "X's Stream!" Someone would write," hey it's you YZ!"

Live, none. Watching someone else straight play a game is boring as hell to me. But I’ll watch the YouTube compilations of streams that are edited into comedy bits (Soviet Womble, Joshdub) or over the top exploits (The Spiffing Brit, Let’s Game it Out).

I love vtubers and game streams, my fave is Silvervale because I adore her voice. I like to just put her streams on as background noise when I'm working :)

Writers of FS, what's the advice you would give to a novice writer starting out in original fiction?

Kissing Scenes (inspired be Secret #2)

I'm nearly done with my fic and I want my OTP to kiss, but I can't figure out how to describe it. I'm pretty bad at kissing scenes (I generally just write, "And then they kissed", and fade to black), but I want to get better at them. It would be their first kiss after A thought B wasn't going to come back from a dangerous situation, but then B turns up on her doorstep a few weeks later and A's so happy that she just needs to kiss her. What should I focus on when they do kiss?

Tumblr tags

Seem to be missing on a lot of posts lately. Has something changed over there? I visit only occasionally anymore, but I wanted to use Blacklist on XKitt and block a tv show I don't care about, and the post(s) had no tags. Some still seem to, but a lot don't, but it's like I can't see them, rather than they aren't there.

But who knows. Tumblr is so weird anymore. Also, a 'shiny new post editor' keeps popping up, wanting me to try it. Anybody using it? What's it do?

Tumblr now has its own built in blocking system. So it'll block a post if OP has one of your blacklists in the tag no matter whose blog you're seeing it on.

The new post editor is just the mobile version of post editor for the desktop. It doesn't differentiate between different types of posts anymore (picture, text, video, etc) but you'll still be able to post those different media formats.

Tumblr censors "Bernard Minet" as a tag--the guy who made most of the cheesy French anime openings/endings in the 90ties--and I have no idea what.
I'm miffed about "lesbians" "Le Bleu est une couleur chaude", anything with "kink" or "fetish" but at least I understand where that came from. But That guy?? why???

Does anyone remember a manga where these dudes were normal office workers by day and KISS-like rockers by night? And their entire identities were secret?

I feel like this was a manga i read WAY back in the day and I really loved the concept. I just wish I could remember the name :( does anyone know wtf I'm talking about? Thanks in advance.


On that note, has anyone here ever formed a band/group of musicians -- how did you go about doing that? I just wanna make music with people. Lol.

Of course, that horrible KISS movie (KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park) in '78 immediately filled my brain, heh.

I think people either just know other musical people and go 'hey, let's get together and play some music', or they do something like advertise in Craigslist or on FB that they want to do some group music stuff. I guess Music in the Time of COVID will be a little harder, but then again, Zoom jamming might make it *easier*, 'cause you could do that with people in other countries/states/towns.
