It's really common in relationships with drunks and/or junkies. He's certainly allowed to live his life but as someone who still struggles with addiction, this is basically textbook what any recovery program is going to tell you NOT to do. I do agree with you that people put him on a pedestal when he's just a typical guy, but honestly he's the "OMFG HAVE YOU HEARD HOW MUCH I LOVE MY WIFE LATELY????" guy and he's been that guy for years, and people are just shocked that he's dumped the wife he supposedly loved so much and has moved on so quickly.

Somehow Carrey managed to be uncomfortably attractive to me as Robotnik.

And, yes, I also covet his coat, and his entire wardrobe.

I also ship Robotnik and Agent Stone. It has nothing to do with anything, but I just wanted to put it out there. They should definitely bang, is all I'm saying.

A Coen brother is doing a 'new take' on the play. The Tragedy of Macbeth will star Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand and be shot in black and white. But it doesn't sound like it will be any more historically accurate. Then again, maybe the witches use that argument to convince him. It should be out this year.

nayrt but this. I think people would still be going "Man, what a dick" if he hadn't been the "OMG I LOVE MY WIFE SOOOOOOO MUCH" guy, but it's not surprising the reactions are stronger because he did make a big deal out of it in his comedy routines and on social media. He got the accolades for being an adoring, unabashedly in love with his own wife husband, this is just the flip side of that coin.

I guess does anyone have any advice for how to find a roommate or find a place to rent where rent alone doesn't take up 90% of my monthly budget?

Yeah I feel this. I do have an older sibling, but because if severe health issues throughout their life I've always been looking after them. I of course understand why things are the way they are, but I've always wondered what it would have been like to have an older sibling to watch out for you or at the very least gave a crap about your own existence.

I don't know. I think a lot of his wife material isn't actually quite as straightforwardly wife-guy-ish as his reputation. Some of it is, but a lot of it is really just regular old relationship humor. I really think a lot of his audience wanted to see him a certain way.

Been crying more frequently recently because of anxiety/life shit and got drunk in a park so my family don't have to deal with my emotional bullshit.

It was kind of a nice day out. People stayed away because I probably looked like a crazy person sitting in the rain while crying my eyes out - but when the rain stopped and got brighter, I was cried out and just listened to music while writing some stuff in my notebook.

Although there are parts I do still find funny, I agree that the rest have definitely not aged well.

The ending of the first movie went over my head for years as a kid, up until I hit my 20s and realized the transphobia there.

I’m honestly kind of embarrassed at the way AO3 read my mind today. I had a dream a few days ago about a minor character from a movie I saw one time several years ago and never got involved in fandom for, and all of a sudden I wanted...basically that dream in the form of reader-insert fanfic. And AO3 delivered. I barely used two words in my search, I wasn’t even sure of the character’s name, and yet most of the results were the exact kind of OC I was in the dream, paired with that minor character, in that particular context, same major tropes and everything. I never have this easy a time searching for things. Never. I had to hide under my blanket to read them because I felt like I was being watched.

Maybe I’m not the only one who’s had that dream.

I know someone who is a stan of this guy (or was, I haven't been on tumblr in a few days) but she was crushed about this guy, when all his shit hit the fan. People certainly believed in what he said in his comedy routines.
