I had the most awesome time trolling the comments for secret #112 on Thursday. It's amazing how easy it is to get people riled up. :D

Wow, I can't believe you'd actually brag about having no life. I'm glad I ignored your "response" to me.

120 Wednesday: After that scene I sorta shipped Nixon/Frost lol.

I'm so not used to a Fandomsecrets post having like 9 posts. XD

Wednesday #129 - It makes me so damn depressed that being a "feminist" is seen as such an awful thing.

It's hardly a perfect movement, especially in regard to its claims to work for all women, but I'd rather be inside it than outside it.

[identity profile] pkbitchgirl.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately, there are a lot of assholes who claim to be feminists. They don't seem to realise that being a feminist means that you are just as supportive to woman who chose not to have children as you are to those who do.

I've seen so-called feminists work themselves up into a froth about the selfishness of women who chose not to experience the joys of motherhood.

108 Friday: PFFFFF. The Tim Burton version was awful and didn't need to be made.

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement.

I'm pretty gratified by all the American Idol and Star Trek secrets cropping up lately. My fandoms that are not animated, finally getting some love.

Lyle > Neil

(Anonymous) 2009-03-07 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
I'm betting they were made by the same person.

It's nice to see the entire week in perspective. Patterns and trends become more obvious.

As the OP to one of them, I can honestly say NOPE.

Monday secrets

The influx of Rob Brydon/Ben Miller stuff just made me sad, really. They were hardly secrets. It just shows the lack of communication in the Brit Panel Slash & Comedian IRL slash groups. In any other fandom, if something like that happened, there'd be a massive boom of fangirling in the relevennt communities. The communities are dead.

I know, whine more. I want squee friends :(

I think this week in review is an excellent idea.

120 on Friday: Would you like icing on your word pie? The old Yuu Yuu Hakusho fanfiction is horrid. And the BNFs never acknowledge that the new fic is better than the old.

[identity profile] miribai.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait there's a NEW Yuu Yuu fandom? Its not dead? Because that would be deliciously fantastic if there were a living breathing fandom around.

140 on Thursday: I love Lolita to bits for exactly this, but a book fandom is hard when you can't go 'I ship it!' and squabble over who's ship is better and write slash fanfiction or something. It's just not a fandom-y book.
And it's an every day struggle for me to convince people to read it (or watch the movies) because they're freaked out by the subject matter, and no amount of 'No, look, it's genius:' convinces them. It's an awkward subject, and its handled masterfully (particularly, I'm continuously impressed by Nabokov's ability to make HH sympathetic, and then Jeremy Iron's portrayal akjsdkjdffdkj) and people can seem to get over that for rape and murder and genocide but not for Lolita.

Ramblerambleramble...shit, I really want a fandom, too :C

(Anonymous) 2009-03-07 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, take comfort in the fact that you and the OP have convinced me to go read it. I've ordered it today. I hope it turns out to be as good as you two make it out to be ;)

(Diva was mistreated terribly). So very much yes. So much so that, crazy bitch as she might be, she was never really the villain. She's just a force of nature, following her own drives. And I get the impression that a lot of those drives were also being manipulated still, by Amshell. Actually, just as Saya was still being used by Red Shield. But at least Saya made a choice in the matter, even if she wasn't left with much of one.
