i love it, too.

my first reaction was horror and bewilderment (i.e. the sane reaction), but every time i watch it i love it more. "tell me the human race is degenerate, now!" i mean, it makes no sense, and the doctor's awful plan is awful, and why is he flying??! but still - it's an incredibly powerful scene and it's gone from being something i raged about to something i... er, quote, whilst it's happening.

also, you're right - perfectly plausible within established canon. the, er, fear bit - not the flying. i still have not idea why that happens. oh, well, who cares? i don't understand how a lot of the stuff that happens in the series 4 finale happens either...

wowww. sorry if I don't let that one part color the entire character for me. [personally, I thought it was very out of character.] mostly because I didn't take him seriously, but I guess that just means I fail even more, right?

and had I been compared to the Comedian and been proud of that, then perhaps I would deserve to have a similar experience, but uh, I would have to say Kyoya isn't on that same level.

I know almost exactly how you feel. I have friends who'll say something that reminds me of a great line or exchange from one of the shows, and when I ask, "Are you familiar with 'Friends?'" either they've not watched it (which is OK, you can't see everything) or they'll make this face like someone just passed gas, because of course, they are too cool for such a mainstream show (which, if you don't want to watch something, that's fine - but don't act high and mighty when the shows you like probably recycle a lot of the same old tired plots every other show on TV has already used).
