For what it's worth I am pretty sure that most artists' persona are planned out carefully and I actually like MGK. I don't get why or how Olivia Rodrigo is a thing, but...

I really enjoy reading about the history of the Vietnam war, and all the surrounding cultural 'stuff' that was happening - civil rights, the ERA, disability rights, the Black Panthers, the Stonewall Riots, drug culture, music culture - all the huge changes that started happening right after WWII and continued for the next three and four decades. That's the most interesting time in history, for me, in the US, at least.

I also really love reading about anything space. Exoplanets and how we know anything about them, dark matter, asteroids and comets and meteors, how space ships work and space stations and rockets, how we can figure out what a galaxy 100 million light years away is like, how the moons and rings of Saturn formed, how our *own* moon formed, our own planet...all of that is so fucking amazing.

You might already know this, but - to turn that off, right-click your taskbar, go to 'news and interests' and select 'turn off'. That should leave the weather but get rid of the 'breaking news'.

I totally get how annoying that is, and how most of the time, the 'breaking news' is neither news nor 'breaking'.

Good thing: I recently found out that I DO have (impacted) wisdom teeth, they are all there except for one, which is good (one is missing and I do feel weird jaw pain on that side occasionally but). The bad: the new neurologist sucked so, back to searching. My cousin had already told me that one might suck though. Crazy that the both of us have been struggling with bad migraines and everyone is trying to tell us it's nothing. Sir? WE FEEL PAIN? Are you trying to convince us that we don't? Gotta see more doctors to try to rule out allergies / rhinitis and ear infection still. We march on...

Also, wind noises. Sounds like a cyclone but I saw no alert. WTF.

AND AND AND, also, it's making me cry. I'm sitting here crying and staring at those fucking galaxies.

When I do that, it takes away the weather, which I like having there.

But apparently (supposedly) "Reduce Taskbar Updates" does take away or at least reduce the breaking news updates, so hopefully that'll improve the situation.

Oh, how annoying! It's only supposed to take away news and interests! I'm glad you found a semi-functional workaround. I don't have anything like that on my laptop - it has 'Classic Shell' so it's basically Windows 7 Home edition, because I loathe Windows 10 (had to use it at both jobs in the past five years and hated, hated, hated it. Hate it. Loathe it.)

Work continues to be frustrating and ridiculous. Today, the program manager group-texted all of us two shots of shelves in our supply closet, where we keep things like toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc. Like 'look, here, we have this stuff'.

We know? Fuck's sake, that's where we RESUPPLY STUFF FOR THE CLIENTS AND US FROM. You utter fucking pillock.

The first staff meeting in almost a month, she complained about how she had 'so many' texts from us, and phone calls, and we need to just 'make decisions on our own'. Well, lady, first of all: if you have decided that certain decisions or jobs are now on us, rather than on the PM, as they were in the past? You need to make that clear before hand, not whinge about it afterward when WE DON'T KNOW. Also, also? These new people are fucking clueless and they have not been trained enough and they are not DOING THE JOB.
Last but not least - our funding grants DEPEND ON US DOING CERTAIN THINGS. And these things are not being done because you are an epic fucking wanker who won't be told. Holy. Fucking. Gods.

Also, i had to turn down TWO people last week for shelter because we were closed because of COVID and both were desperate and crying on the fucking phone to me and i hate, hate, hate that.

I've been waiting for this particular new part of my indie fandom for years. But it most likely is not going to be available for me. I am having fun watching trailers and reading excited posts and being fully aware that I am probably not going to see it

Yeah, the tennis skirts I've tried on basically feel like you're wearing bike shorts (but swishy!), so they're as comfortable as that particular make of bike shorts IMO (some bike shorts are comfier than others). I LOVE the bike short trend, myself, but part of that is down to vanity, because my legs are by far my best feature.

I'm with you on jeans. There are a lot of good styles of jeans, but man, low-rise is just not one of them, IMO. They are flattering on like...maybe 3% of the population. Max.

Whether or not it's rude to show actual genitalia in public in a place where the law permits it is a whole complicated issue unto itself, but I highly doubt you are actually seeing women's pussies when you're out and about, and the fact that you can't stop fixating on the possibility that one such pussy could potentially slip into sight and assault your eyes also very much indicates that this is a you problem.

In short: get a fucking grip.
