I like the sound of your stories, sounds like a good way of venting at the current hellscape we inhabit.

Your stories sound true to the spirit of what -punk is about.

Like my problem with steampunk is it's not punk. It's plastic goggles you can buy at Spirit of Halloween. It's unabashed worship of British imperialism and the Victorian era. It's an aesthetic rather than an interrogation.

It doesn't help that the first steampunk I read was China Miéville and only a fraction of the genre lives up to that standard. But give my actual punk steampunk and I'm here for it.

Solarpunk, imo, is slightly harder to commodify. But also much harder to write.

I love, love, love cyberpunk, SO MUCH. And even though it's a bit dated now, William Gibson will forever and always be the best cyberpunk for me. I haven't really found any to compare.
I wish that we'd get an actual good mini-series of the Sprawl trilogy. That would be amazing.

Honestly, what you're saying sounds like what punk is supposed to be period. Not just as an "aesthetic", but like historically (ppl correct me if I'm wrong) but punk came about as a response to shit/dire blue collar social and economic realities -- yeah fashion and music and all that, but it's a response -- the boots were workmen's boots. The anger at the system, etc etc. I know the "-punk" genre is usually (mainstream anyway) tends to be a mostly visual experience, but you're capturing the true essence of what it's supposed to be. It's a response to dystopia and oppression. There are many different types of responses to those lived experiences -- from activists to punk to anything else.

I fir one would love to read what you'd come up with.

This is how I feel about the Given dub. Like yay, it finally has a dub and now my friends who only watch dubs will get into it too, but I’m so used to the Japanese VAs that I don’t think I’d enjoy the dub.

Think I replied to this when it was a text secret but May’s shows are the best. I did like Clarkson’s farm but as always the people around him make it easier and somewhere in there was an important point about the farming industry.

But May manages informative without being too showy and I like that best. The series in Italy just made me want to go back yet again. Love visiting Italy!

Don’t bother with the island escape Hammond did. It’s crap.
