What do you want to do in 2023?

Not necessarily your resolutions, but what things, big or small, do you want to do in the next 12 months?

For me, I want to be able to run a full 5k without stopping or walking. I also want to try baking my own bread and making sushi.

I've baked my own bread and it was fun and not hard but pretty time-consuming. Don't do it on a day when you have a lot of other stuff to do.

Get my commercial drivers licence, visit the Isle of Arran, go to either Manchester or London, ideally get paid to do so as per first goal.

Make actual friends, I guess. But I know walking around with a fear of "you'd better not be a (important topic)denying asshole backstabber in disguise" isn't great, doesn't come off warmly and isn't anyone else's problem anyway. I know that's shit I need to work on. It just makes it hard to know who can be trusted and who can't.

Hoping to get that ID theft shit issue resolved in my favor soon. But it's been quiet so who knows wtf is going on.

I'd like to find affordable housing in an area that isn't shit or besieged by fucking bugs. Well, I guess that's at least partly dependent upon external factors.

Well, I guess this is turning more into a wishlist than stuff to be planned. On the fandom side, I hope to have a great of inspiration and am able to complete all those works in progress.

Re your first point, without knowing what particular issues you're concerned about, and assuming you don't have access to therapy to talk through it, I offer the following suggestions -

Sometimes people adopt a defensive/hostile demeanour to ultimately protect themselves from hurt/rejection. Ie, 'You can't reject me if I reject you first'.

Sometimes people get hung up in perfectionism in their life, and think that if everything isn't picture-perfect than the whole thing's rotten. The relevant phrase is 'don't let perfect be the enemy of good'.

And sometimes people hold views you disagree with, but you are able to be friends with them anyway. And sometimes through your friendship you can change their mind. This obviously depends on the issue you disagree on, but this path is an option for net good.

Just putting these ideas here in case they are useful in thinking through how you can let yourself be more open. Please ignore if they are not.

I want to try watercolour painting!!! It's been my dream forever, but I was too traumatised (couldn't go to art school in high school, my art teacher in middle school harrassed and sexually molested me, my mother and older sister told me my art sucked when I was a kid etc etc lol) to give it a try until recently.
I already bought some supplies and I'm waiting for them to arrive. It's going to suck. I'm going to suffer. But fuck it. I'm 30 years old and I'm going to do it NOW.

I want to improve my target languages, too. Reaching almost business level in Russian and relearning all those Japanese kanji I forgot (I knew 1800, now I remember 1000 I think) would be great. I can still understand Japanese without much problems, but I can't write that well now. And damn I forgot a lot of kanjis' readings.

I want to travel again. I’m thinking Egypt or India, as I’ve been to Europe twice and want to experience something different.

I want to play more DnD. Which is to say any DnD because I didn't really play any last year.

I also want to travel around a bit. Spending the weekend in a city over and screwing around.

I want to learn Korean. I’m going in the fall and it’s important that I’m able to order all the food without looking like a fool lol.

Save up to get a place of my own for me and my kitty. Do a good job at my work and win some cases. Take at least one nice me-time vacation to a hotel (or best option to a beach).

Play some of the many video games I bought and never played.

Watch more K-Dramas.(Not challenging, but it’s something I want to do.)

Get back into learning German.

I’d say “make friends” but that requires leaving my apartment and talking to complete strangers so that’s not my strong suit.

-Stay in a luxury hotel and get room service (never done this before!!! might be able to book a hotel in the big city for my birthday)

-travel; go on at least one trip

-go to NYC and catch at least one show on/off Broadway

-get a nice haircut

-visit more libraries more often

-find the following pieces of signature clothing items: leather jacket, jean jacket, fitted blazer, practical but well designed heavy winter coat, Little Black Dress, snow boots, purse

I want to find a new job that has more stable working hours than my current job. I'm tired of shift work, and I want every weekend free.

I also want to get more muscular. I allready do work out about once a week, but I want to have more regular workouts, and get a bitt more buff.

Get more tattoos.
