Sigh. I’ve been on whatever the opposite of a roll is. I feel like I can’t stop making minor but noticeable social blunders lately. That’s why I like the anonymity here, because nothing I say has any impact on how people view anything else I say. There’s no reputation buildup. And yet I still feel like crawling in a hole and never posting again when I accidentally say something wrong.

The fandom I'm in is in that beautiful balance between when it's always active but not too popular so I rarely ever see fandom drama in it (I suspect that most of the people posting in the tags are over 20 or at the very least over 18 - not to say that adults can't bring drama too, but my last fandom that definitely had a majority of teenagers - always found the weirdest hills to die on between discourses and mental gymnastics on why liking a character/ship meant you were an evil person, so I don't miss that).

My current fandom is, like, three people and a shoestring--I'm the shoestring and there's this one fanartist who provides us the BEST sketches of my fav character.

There's a very friendly Discord server to chat in. Actually, the whole place is remarkably full of people wearing their Get Along t-shirts.

That for the most part it remains fairly nice compared to other fandoms I've been in. That it is just a fun place.

Lately I've been obsessed with Connor x Gavin from Detroit Become Human. They're classified as enemies-to-lovers technically and I love the fics where Gavin gets a "redemption arc" and they have cute little fluffy hurt/comfort moments.

I'm getting a kick digging through archived Spike/Specter/Jake fanworks ala Ape Escape (PS1). Hilarious. Love it. So goofy and weird and ridiculous and wonderful.

just read a time travel fic, which is a plotline that I generally really like. but I guess they didn't think through the mechanics of time travel enough? or something?

so basically there's a character who canonically dies in the storyline, and the characters in this fic could have easily prevented that death without changing the timeline in any way. and instead they just don't. they just hightail it back to their home timeline leaving this one character to get brutally murdered. it's supposed to be a happy ending and I'm just like... wait, what about Bob???
