... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and I'll try my best to use an appropriate image choice. Just to clarify - it's my intention to make all the secrets left in this thread, so even if they're not marked claimed, they will be made.

I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

I do like smart movies, but I also love that Seth Rogan Green Hornet movie too. Sometimes you just need to switch your brain off, you know.

I'm rewatching season 1 of 'Shadow & Bone' as prep to watch season 2 and I just cannot get past how boring, bland, predictable, stale, and tropey Alina and Mal are, in pretty much every way there is. General Kirigin is right up there with them, too.

The more I see or hear about Adin Ross, the less I think he can be redeemed.

(Seriously, I don't think any amount of therapy or lifestyle changes can save him from the moral corruption he has already experienced. It's just too pervasive.)

I still don't think the prequels were good but I definitely think Star Wars is only worthwhile when it's based around weird stuff some goofy guy thinks is cool

I predict how much I'm going to like someone by asking their favorite Doctor/Bond/Captain. It hasn't failed me yet.

David Tennant as Doctor Who, Timothy Dalton as James Bond, William Shatner as James T Kirk.

I love the original series of Star Trek. William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy are the original and best Kirk and Spock.

But Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto have so much more chemistry. I have no idea how the originals ever sparked a fandom.

It never fails to irk me, an Australian, that SEGA made the Knuckles tribe, a group of echidna which are endemic to Australia and the New Guineas, Mayan inspired in Sonic Adventure and from then on everyone has taken that as truth, when they could have looked at Australian Aboriginal culture and been inspired by that.

Secret because even just typing that makes me feel kind of racist.

I wish that authors would quit it with the thing where they switch up the POV character mid-series. It almost always makes the new POV character less likeable than they were before we could see into their head.

If I ship a pairing, I will always want them to, 1) fall in love, and 2) be okay.

I know for a lot of people the toxicity of a messed up ship is the entire appeal, and I respect that. I just can’t relate. I’m emotionally incapable of not rooting for characters I ship, even when they’re horrible.

Me: Oh they’re analogous with Nazis? They commit profound human rights violations? They show no sign of feeling remorseful? Okay, but why are they like that? What is the wound at the core of them? Why are their coping mechanisms so maladaptive? And could their feelings for each other be the thing that snowballs into an avalanche of character growth for both of them?

Me, after pretending to think it over like a reasonable person: Yes, that could happen, I have decided.

Not Secret #1: Because of my job, I am required to wear a cloth face mask.

Not Secret #2: I find the ones with a seam down the middle to be the best fitting, most comfortable, and most flattering.

Secret: I love wearing these kind of face mask because it makes me feel like a bad-aft Transformer!

P.S.: Aft ( or aft section ) is Transformers-speak for robotic rear end.

No matter who ends up playing Delirium in the Netflix Sandman, I'll probably be a bit disappointed in who gets cast.

Not because I have my heart set on a particular actor, but because ever since I thought it'd be awesome to have multiple actors play her, of all different ethnicities and body types and gender presentations, I'll be a bit let down to see her presentation tied to one face and body.

Yes, I know the Endless appearances vary depending on the viewer's culture, species, etc, but being as the four we've seen so far are played by the same actors (minus Kaikul and the Cat of Dreams) I assume that at least for the Netflix adaptation, that's what their human forms look like to themselves and maybe each other.

I honestly don't know anything about their critical or popular reception to know if I'm just repeating the most common banal opinion it's possible to have, but so damn many fic writers whose work I love just adore The Mountain Goats?

And, okay, the lyrics and melodies aren't always my thing but they're okay I guess, and I know nothing about the band, idek the lead (only?) singer's (and I assume he's also the lyricist? Maybe?) name.

BUT

Oh my fucking god his voice annoys the everliving shit out of me.

I have the vocal range of a rusty hinge and the vocal timbre of a dying seagull. No one hates my voice like I do. And I would rather listen to myselfsinging than Mountain Goats guy. I would rather listen to Tom Waits and Bob Dylan sing all of Cosi Fan Tutti before subjecting myself to an entire Mountain Goats album.

a lot of my fellow POC are mad Jaime Lee Curtis won the Best Supporting Actress oscar, because she didn't deserve it compared to anyone else in the category, but she clearly did a ton of background promo for Michelle which i do think helped her win (along with Andrea Risenborough ironically siphoning votes from Cate from the backlash crowd) and so i don't care. she can have an ally oscar.

frankly, being supportive of people without nepo connections is all i ask of nepo babies and their privilege anyway

I don't know how to tell my writer friend that the most unsexy thing she can do during a sex scene is write the word 'boobs'. She's like 'he took her boob in his mouth' and I'm like 'NO STOP PLEASE' in my head but I don't know a polite way to ask her to stop doing this.

I have several reasons for playing Genshin Impact with the Chinese dub.
1. I prefer to play games with the original dub
2. The Chinese one is also, imo, the best (both by voice acting quality and choice of voices)
3. The English one is especially bad (if I had to play it in English I would have never kept playing considering you need to listen to Paimon a LOT)
4. If I played it in a language I could understand, the repetitive idle voicelines/NPC background babble would be even more annoying

But the added huge bonus? Not being constantly reminded/aware that several of the VAs are annoying dumbasses at best or outright creeps at worst like it's the case with the English ones.

(The bad thing is you still get the English bad translations as dubtitles. Ugh)

Filtering Crossover fics on AO3

Is there a way to filter through fandoms with a selection of crossovers (like a combination of four specific fandoms from every other tagged fandoms), but not just those fandoms?

Like, the way it works on AO3 is that I'll pick fandoms A,B and C while filtering out everything else - but instead of showing fics that may only tag one of the fandoms or a combination of two that leaves out the third; AO3 only shows fics that exactly those tags.

So I was super excited about starting my new job today, but it turned out to be a bunch of ridiculously unprofessional, incompetent lunatics. I swear, some of these people were sociopaths. I don't want to get into details but...it was INSANE. It just kept getting progressively more crazy until the possibility of criminal charges came up due to something that happened and that's when I was like NOPE, I'm not doing this.

Everything seemed normal during the interview, and their website makes it seem like a decent place, but a lot of what's on there are just flat out lies.

I was so looking forward to it and am still just kind of baffled at how insanely awful an experience it was.

Gaaaaahhhhh.

I feel like there has to be something wrong with me. My emotions just don't last.




My dad died early this morning. And I cried briefly when I found out, though I didn't sob. And I felt sad. But now I'm back to just feeling numb. I've had a few brief moments of sadness since then. But it just doesn't stick around. I should feel more and feel longer. I don't get what is wrong with me. I feel like a robot.
