My BIL bought me the original last year because I loved it back in the day. But I just can't do tank controls anymore. They destroy me.

I look forward to watching other people play it this week because I too have trouble with these kind of games. They're neat from a cinematic standpoint but man, I'm so bad at playing them.

Had to go into work this morning to go through the paperwork of 140 shipments for some sustainability report. The person needing it of course told me 3 work days before it was due.

Good. I declared today Cozy Day, which means I stay home in comfy clothes and blankets, drink tea, scroll the internet, nap with the dog and cat, and just generally decompress from all the shit. Its so nice.

This work week has been disastrously obnoxious, due entirely to terrible third-party services and tools that the management decided to pay for without consulting the people who would have to use them. And my mom just msged me to let me know one of my uncles died today after apparently having been in a coma since Saturday, which I had heard none of - and while this is all sad, most of my aunts/uncles on that side of the family (fortunately not my cousins, who have called their parents out on the BS) are very close to (if not already) going ultra-MAGA and I have no desire to interact with them at a funeral. At least my health continues to decline so I have an excuse not to go. Don't really know what to say to my mom, who has similarly sort of cut ties with much of her family, but he was still her brother.

On the bright side, FFXIV has gotten fun again once I got past a couple annoying things. I bought an apartment and have been having fun making furniture for it. I also hired a cute viera retainer who calls me "love". And I think I'm about to get the next phase of my relic weapon, if I can pull together a party to do two dungeons tonight. (I hope it starts glowing again.)

I'm staying with my parents right now while my place is being renovated, and my mom let me know to be on the lookout for a package that's supposed to come tomorrow, which is apparently some sort of sexual "device" for my dad, which I really didn't need to know about.

So I'm traumatized but other than that I guess I'm okay!

In an incredibly nice food coma

On vacation out of state (first one in 2023, hopefully not the only one). Was able to spend a little cash to stay at a hotel/apartment suite. So nice to play pretend that I'm living alone and able to move into a nicely furbished one bedroom apt. Pretending I'm one of those food/life bloggers I watch so much on Youtube. XD

Just finished eating a meal I put together after shopping at Whole Foods. It was harder to put a couple meals together while trying not to waste any food/have leftovers than I originally thought. But was able to put together yummy meals. I go back home tomorrow afternoon. Back to a chaotic, hectic life!

But in the meantime, enjoying this relaxing! Got food from a couple restaurants too. Local cuisine is decent. Weather here is so nice. Been so good to my skin!

Its supposed to be sunny this weekend and I'd like to get out of the house (lots of rain here lately). Ideally I'd like to have brunch/lunch at an outdoor café but its not going to be warm enough, and the ground is still too soggy for picnicking, so we'll probably just watch the NCAA tournament at a sports bar.

Mom and sister are in San Antonio, so have house to myself. Plans are mostly just self-care. Lots of sleep, couple baths, just trying to give myself what I need right now.

It's supposed to storm all weekend here, so I plan on doing a lot of reading and maybe baking something. Also I'm thinking of watching the Chucky TV series since I've had a couple people (who usually have similar taste to me) recommend it lately.

Does anyone think that resealable packaging is worse now? I swear things just don't reseal as well. Also, they don't tear open as easy. I am always having to grab a pair of scissors for stuff that would just tear open back in the day.

Stray cat anon

Hi its me, anon from a few months ago who took in the stray cat. Things are great, however...he kills things and brings them to me. So far he's killed 3 rats and a sparrow and has left them on my back porch. I know this is just cat behavior but I'd really rather he didn't go after the birds. Is there anything I can do to help quell this behavior or do I have to just deal with his attempts at providing for his new family?

Venting and also need advice I guess

I forget a lot of words. You know, tip of the tongue feeling. Almost constantly. My talking involves you-know-this-thing-yes-this-one. Maybe it's an absolutely normal aging thing, maybe my depression affects it. Maybe it's too much internet. I don't know. But I am so tired of this.
Does anyone have this problem? What do you do about it? Or don't?
Also you can hijack this post to vent. (I had to google the word 'hijack' because I needed to use it but couldn't remember it exactly. But tbf I am ESL)
