... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and I'll try my best to use an appropriate image choice. Just to clarify - it's my intention to make all the secrets left in this thread, so even if they're not marked claimed, they will be made.

I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

Not gonna lie, I'm not going to enjoy anything featuring Russia for a while. I'm also glad I didn't finish through my attempts at reading through long-considered-classics such as War and Peace, or Crime and Punishment as a teenager because I know I wouldn't have understood them at the time. Probably I'd be able to understand them better now knowing that a lot of the social ills that are portrayed in them are still ever present in Russia now, but eh, I still don't have much of an appetite for Russia these days.

b!s: At least the astroturfed "RUSSIA STRONK" memes that infested the internet has mostly died down, though you still see some comments heaping praise on Russia and saying that the oppression makes them 'more intellectual' or 'more strong' than us pampered westerners. Those sort of comments always rubbed me the wrong way, and I'm glad I finally get to see less of them. Though Conan the Barbarian fandom still has those sort of fans.

Man, I would like this a lot more if it didn't have so much pedo-bait. There were parts I genuinely liked too. I just don't know how to handle an author using jailbait designs or being horny about it in their stories. It just becomes an increasing source of frustration the more I try to ignore it.

But what really made me drop the story was that the robot wife and robot child didn't tell the owner that ghosts exist. Pissed me off.

I think the vast majority of online turf wars are profoundly silly.

Fandom vs fandom? I laugh.

Social media platform vs another one? Laugh riot.

Serious political debates online? Still tempted to giggle.

Oh well, at freaking least I enjoy popcorn...

i kinda get why mcyt fandom is the way it is about this kind of thing, bc of the different kind of parasocial relationship between ccs and fans, but it still baffles me how much certain parts of this fandom space seem to prioritise ccs' boundaries and preferences (if they are known) when it comes to fanworks (but esp fic) bc it makes it feel like fanworks aren't really for fans anymore but for ccs instead even if ccs aren't actually seeking out fanworks beyond fanart and animatics/animations. this kind of atmosphere stifles creativity. there's so many fics i've stopped myself writing bc of this bc i don't want to create any drama or get myself cancelled or dogpiled bc i wrote the wrong thing. i miss my old more traditional fandoms where this wasn't the case and we just created anything we wanted to and didn't have to worry about this kind of thing.

Lately, I've been wondering if I'm a bad friend/person for disliking people who judge everything and everyone really harshly. Doesn't it just make me overly judgmental myself?

To tell one personal story, my friend and I are/were fans of the show Bridgerton. Said friend finished the 2nd season in a matter of days, I took about 2 months to watch the whole 2nd season.
Friend went from being the ultimate Kate/Anthony shipper who preferred the show over the book to continually going over every single thing they hated about the show including the bad changes from book to screen, but the book is also awful.
After a couple weeks of listening to them list off everything they hate about the show (and sometimes the books), I got tired of listening to it. I've stated I like the show and felt the Kate/Anthony romance was well executed but any time anything closely related to Bridgerton/Shonda Rhimes comes up, said friend will go off their laundry list of "Everything Wrong With Bridgerton/Shonda Rhimes' Shows".
They hate so much about the show I wonder if it's just their thing to like something and then hate it eventually?

And why does it bother me?

I don't think Russian people should be welcomed in fandom spaces until they take care of Putin. I'm not all that crazy about Floridans or Texans either, for the same reason.

The only good thing about Steven Moffat being possibly tapped to showrun a Harry Potter series is that we'll finally get a canon transsexual Harry Potter.

I'm not interested in seeing Ahsoka or Thrawn in liveaction Star Wars, but I am 1000% here for liveaction Zeb, Hera and Chopper.

I might be showing my age here, but I liked the neutral color schemes and natural wood accents on Star Trek TNG, I find their bridge the most restful and relaxing of all the Star Trek ships. I'd want to spend some time there.

I actually enjoy Andor. I do. What I don't enjoy is the way a lot of Andor fans use the show to bash the rest of the franchise. Quit it, please.

I don't care about Quentin Tarantino's Star Trek movie that he wanted to make, but I do wish I could see Wes Anderson's Star Wars movie though.

As much as I usually like goofy stuff, I dearly wish that tech existed to erase any memories of Bee Movie from my mind... and maybe the rest of the world too, maybe.

It usually takes me about half a normal season to get characters names down in a show, and start to relate to them, which is a problem now that so many shows top out at 9-12 episodes instead of a full 20-26. I only just get into it, then it is over for anything up to three years and I have to start all over again. Just bring back old seasons, TV, please?

Car modding fandom has done many stupid things, but nothing is stupider than coal rolling. Why, gear heads, why? The only upside to coal rolling is that it'll help drown Florida all the quicker, I guess.

I love my Lug/Anode TF fandom pairing. I wish whoever owns the franchise rights right now would do more with them. They are wonderful, in a trainwreck kind of way. They are the sweetest trash people pairing you could love.

You will never convince me that Sisko was not deep inside Section 31 himself, probably suckered in after Wolf 359 when they took him for an easy mark due to his trauma. Classic cult recruiter move.

I don't need to see another movie with cruelty to dogs in it ever again, thank you very much, Hollywood. Not even for comedy purposes. Cruelty to cats, for comedy purposes, is still okay though.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: There is a salvageable movie in Song of the South, it is full of African American folklore and it is a shame to lose that. Disney needs to back a few trucks of money up to Jordan Peele’s house until he agrees to do a remake without the racism, or at least puts proper commentary and context on the racism, just so we can get those important pieces of Black History back. Just Vaulting it and pretending it never existed is not the right answer.

I usually don't like overly wangsty modern reboots, with all the attendant darkness and "realism" that comes with them, but I'd make an exception if it was for ALF.
