In North America raccoons fill the monkey niche in the ecosystem. In Australia and Australasia Koala and tree kangaroos do this, in South America, Asia and Africa they have actual monkeys, but in Europe they don't have any animal that fills that niche in the ecosystem; how come? Why is there a vacant eco-niche?

Europe has several cold-resistant, tree-climbing animals that are kinda relatives of weasels. Martens, polecats, that sort of thing. They also have some little, nocturnal wild cat relatives that sleep in trees and attics, but the actual name for those escapes me right now.

So I don't think the niche is empty, you're just wondering about the animals that fill it.

Australia - tree kangaroos are only in the far north. Everywhere else it's possums. Also flying foxes and various gliders.

Okay, here isn't the best place, but I need the anonimity and expertise (and the understanding of disabledness/poorness too).

I am the anon with a brain malformation and I think I may have a medical emergency. Long story short I had a bad sequence of events this month (PMDD → emotional crap → mothers day which is always disgraceful and more "special dates" → hit my head in an iron bar → more PMDD → fought my boss, etc) and... well, the thing is, my head hurts. Not a normal headache either, not a migraine or a tension headache, more like a contusion headache, but less consistent. Mild shock-like/piercing pains come and go, but I usually feel a heaviness, as if my neck should be immobilized. Sometimes I manage to find a specific comfortable position while in bed but it's a matter of luck. Sorry I suck at explaining.

Anyway, I probably should get a checkup. I don't want to get a CT because I am one of those anti radiation freaks (with good reason) so I have an MRI scheduled, which I should have gotten before anyways. But I don't even know how this stuff works. If the technician notices my head is bleeding / leaking ... then what? Are they supposed to send me to a hospital? Do I have a say? How expensive can this stuff be? I am super dysfunctional (and my brain isn't in optimal state, honestly) so I am really afraid and the tension doesn't seem to be great against the pains.

Probably With Six You Get Eggroll by Speranza (due South), if only because I first read it when it came out. I still re-read it occasionally, or listen to the podfic; the characters are spot on and the writing is fantastic.

Despite being voracious and passionate about fanfic, I don't tend to reread things very often. However, I do periodically get the urge to reread a passage from the Drarry fic Away Childish Things by lettered, and every time, I end up getting sucked in and reading a substantial chunk of the fic over again.

I mean there's been a lot of talk regarding these creators on account of kids who grew up as content for their families speaking up about privacy rights etc., And all kinds of issues that come up -- was listening to an episode of there are no girls on the internet that kind of went into this. There's a lot to be said about so many aspects to this.

I think you can make a secret about it. People make secrets of small and obscure fandoms here at least twice a month (say if you were talking about a specific content maker).
