Years ago in a fandom I no longer remember I read a WiP I was really enjoying and wondered how it would all end, hit the last chapter, realised it wasn't done and didn't have more so looked at the last update date. 10 years prior to when I was reading it. xD

It happens and it's always a bit disappointing, but a few times of having this happen is why I no longer read WiP's. I stick to complete stories I know have been finished.

And this is why I never read WiPs

My fic is a crack ship AU in a super popular fandom. The two characters don't even interact in canon but the fic is so good!!! Only 4 chapters in and they haven't updated in about 3 years. 🙃

It can be legit confusing. Generally it takes me a bit to get into the flow and then with a decent author it works. Related, but I absolutely hate the xe/xyr type neo pronouns. I would much rather deal with they/them.
