I can't really leave home overnight due to caring for family - BUT I have been planning some day trips such as going to a Pride festival up in the city, going to an alternative goth market the week after and maybe a beach trip with friends (but if that doesn't go through, I know its around the time the new Deadpool movie comes out so I might go see that instead as a plan B).
I did get to go to a convention in May and that was really fun :]

I'm going to Seattle in September! My BIL has a realtor conference so we'll be tagging along. Free hotel and all that fun stuff!

DragonCon. Which means we have no money or PTO for another vacation.

I wish I were going to Japan again but that's gonna take more saving up of both money and PTO.

Nowhere interesting. Going on a retreat to this nice place on a river in July. Going to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I’m going to UP Michigan in a few weeks. I’ve never been and I’m ridiculously excited to cross the Mackinac Bridge. I’m married to a Michigander who’s descended from a long line of Michiganders and I’ll be the first to cross that bridge LOL But mostly I’m excited that it’s 20° cooler up there because this summer has been a killer here :/

Sort of inspired by 2. I liked Haunting of Hill House, but haven't seen Bly Manor. I saw Midnight Mass and felt pretty lukewarm about it because while I love the aesthetics and people in it, boy howdy did that dialogue go on for a while sometimes.

Rian Johnson. The studio that makes the Undertale and related games. Taika Waititi. Lin Manuel Miranda.
I'd say Woody Allen but I've barely watched a single movie by him, I just feel like he's one of those creators who is universally accepted to be pretentious.

All those directors who either insist popular movies are bad and only art movies are good or that at-home viewing is bad and movies are only worth watching in the theater. Just comes off as pretentious and arrogant.

Neil Gaiman but only his solo work. When he's working with someone else (comics for example) I'm a huge fan.

NISIOISIN. Every adaptation I've seen of his work has been unbearably pretentious, and the attempts I made to read translated versions of his novels have been even worse. I couldn't even get through the xxxHolic novel and I like that series.

... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and while I'm definitely not the world's greatest expert at secret design, I'll try my best. Please note that secrets with lots of text are sometimes difficult to accommodate and I'll give it a shot but might not be able to make secrets where the text is so lengthy that I can't fit it into the limited space. Also, this is not the appropriate place to hold political debates or arguments about what is and is not fandom - those can go in the General Comments section as their own thread, no need to make it into a secret.

I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

Everyone belongs in fandom, but, if your default attitude is "How Dare People Care About Issues" whenever a social issue is brought up; then you don't belong in fandom. Fandom is where we explore issues. Bonus!Secret: The Boys is probably about you and you still don't know it, and Star Trek is still not your Safe Space.

Fuck you. I liked Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, unironically so, and if you lived up to your fandom creed of love what you love then you wouldn't keep trying to make me ashamed of that. You know who I'm talking to.
