The whole Becky Burke story is annoying me to no end. Her dad made a post full of distortions and intent viral and nothing held up under scrutiny. The problem is that Trump really is to blame: she would have been detained under any administration if she’d been caught in the last 30 years. But now she’s stuck waiting so long to return home because Trump has fired so many judges and coerced many more to retire. But everyone is still taking it as she was illegally detained and the poor little lamb did nothing wrong. Her parents are even calling her little girl in the media. There’s zero accountability for a grown woman doing something illegal. If an American did the same thing in the UK, Border Force would arrest them.
Also: Do you have any idea how badly you have to fuck up as a Brit to get denied entry into Canada?
The whole thing just annoys me and I don’t think she’s deserving of special consideration just because her parents think she’s special.
