The neck procedure I had done seems to not have worked, I'm still in a lot of pain. So frustrated. Seeing doctor this week. And my lower back is still really unhappy too.

Work is just so overwhelming. And we're all massively underpaid. And they say they are now offering help, but the potential help comes in the form of someone who is taking their bar exam in February that I would basically have to train. I feel for the person. I've been there. But I don't have the time to train. I need someone with experience. I'm already so behind on department/management things because I'm having to spend all my time on case work. I did submit 6 job applications this weekend, though.

Also, really annoyed at one judge who has issued form denials on motions I've submitted in a couple cases. The thing is, it is clear the judge never even read the motions because they cite the wrong law. And I feel so bad for my clients because the current appeal or reconsider fees are over $1000. And now I have to find time to do those extra motions I wasn't expecting. I get the judges are even busier than I am. But it pisses me off that this one didn't even bother to cite to the right law. Just issued a form denial that is completely wrong.

None of this is helped by the fact that I'm having sleep issues right now and am way behind on sleep.

When was your procedure, if you don't mind me asking? Could it possibly be a temporary side effect or issue that might resolve itself with time? (though typing this out, I realize thats most certainly not the case)
I'm sorry about your work situation too. It absolutely sucks that something that was promised to help only ended up being more stress and effort when it came through.
I know nothing about law, so I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better about the Judge situation. It's just so strange because your hands are tied when it comes from the judge, especially because you /know/ that what they're citing isn't right. The simplist in me just wants to yell, 'can't you challenge them or something?!' but I know that law can be painful that way.

I do hope things get better for you, even if it's only a good nights sleep.

TW illness and possible death

My best friend's mom very suddenly got taken to the hospital with a brain haemorrhage. By now she's stable but it's looking pretty bad. I've known her all my life and I'm just so terribly helpless. My friend is completely devastated- At least she has some other family around her but it's such a huge shock and everything is just so completely uncertain now. I try to support her but there's not much I can do except listen to her. At the same time, I'm also pretty depressed because of the shock, the helplessness and my general depression I already have. And I try to distract myself but anytime I don't think about it for a second, as soon as I think of it again it comes with a massive wave of guilt and self loathing that I actually managed to forget about it shortly while my friend does not have that luxury.
Everything has changed now.

I wish i wasnt evil. I wish i was valued. I wish i didnt inflict pain onto my peers and my family just by existing. I wish id died when i was supposed to instead of letting things drag out like this. I wish i had the chance to be normal, to cure myself of all my evil afflictions. I wish i didnt exist anymore. I wish i never existed in the first place.

I hate that an annoying user that is popular on gaming forum I visit. She's a local celebrity. I removed some users from my friend list because they worship her so much. There's some other well known users but those are mostly known for their horny or troll takes so no one takes them seriously.

Not only of course I am on my period while on a vacation. It is such usual thing for me it's not even funny. But yesterday was such a nice day, and I've got period shits lol. Spending time in the city while trying to always be near a toilet is so damn frustrating.

The reason disabled parking bays are big is so that a mobility aid can be pulled up alongside the car and the car door can be fully opened. I can't believe how many people park their car in the loading area :( It's not even really big enough for a second car, how am I supposed to get a wheelchair in between?

Book Character Headcanons

I had a very clear image of what I imagined Harry Potter to look like and Daniel Radcliffe was not it. I was so confused when he was praised for looking just like Harry!

I thought Alec Guinness made a fabulous George Smiley in the 1979 version of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He was very close to how I’d imagined Smiley.

Legolas and Gimli in the Jackson films were EXACTLY what I’d pictured in my head.

David Suchet IS Poirot. He’s perfect.

Chris Hemsworth is the perfect Thor. The MCU did a lot of great casting imo, but Hemsworth was spot on.

I can’t think of any others right now, but I know there are more.

When I read the Hunger Games, I pictured Effie Trinket as a little old lady with silver hair. It's probably just because I couldn't picture the name Effie belonging to anyone under 70. Kind of silly of me when the books are set in the far future and the other characters have names that are downright ridiculous, but I was still really surprised and thought she had been aged down for the movie version when she wasn't old in it. It was only a little while later that I realized the books never said she was old, I just had that strong a personal vision of the name Effie.

I think I saw the 80s Anne of Green Gables with Megan Followes before I read the books, and she'll forever be Anne Shirley for me. The casting on that series was just so, so perfect.

Right? It's the worst, it feels like a complete betrayal for no reason.

Mine's when you pull a price tag off of a piece of clothing and it also pulls a thread with it, like... great. Or when you throw a tshirt in the wash and it gets a small stain on it after the washing somehow.

Oh jeez, yeah.
I really hate buying something that should be delightful - Cabot brand extra sharp cheddar popcorn!! - and it tastes totally gross. Like - feet. SO disappointing.

My go-to lazy dinner is making sweet and sour chicken using frozen veggies and frozen popcorn chicken. They changed the formula on the chicken breading and now it's spicy. NO!

My cat refuses to take her medication when I give it to her. She'll take it in the complicated dug out food mass that's been working lately from anyone else in my household, but never me. I know this is mostly my fault for spoiling her all her life, but she'll just look at me knowing I'm trying to feed her the terrible tasting pill and walk away. I used to give it to her all the time by burying it in her favourite wet food, but even when I copy what everyone else does she just won't even look twice at it. I have no idea what to do about it.

I'm playing an early game from an indie developer I like, and it's fun, but all the swearing is censored, and some of the main characters swear a LOT. Even words like hell are censored. I have no idea why they made that decision for a game that runs on dark humor, but it's so jarring. Their later games are much more lighthearted and don't censor swearing.
