106. Aw!!! Personally I think this is part of the reason why SZS is such a great series ... 99% is total crack, but there's this 1% of it with all kind of literary undertones and philosophizing that lends itself to these kinds of comparisons. And of course, Kumeta wants you to think about people like Kafka and Osamu Dazai as you're reading ... so I don't think there's anything wrong with that at all.

I know what you mean about something this dark helping you with depression. There is a weird sort of hopefulness to the series, isn't there? I tend to feel it mostly when I'm watching the anime during the OPs, I feel like Ohtsuki Kenji's songs really perfectly capture that feeling. To me, SZS is about a bunch of weird people who are learning how to be alone together.

I can kind of understand her not getting a musical number since she was a secondary character, but I agree it would've have been really great (since she's sort of integral to the plot. Sort of). However, there is a spinoff CD of character songs (sung by the voice actors!) coming out soon, I believe. I forget whether or not Charlotte has a song though.

No, we've all seen BSG. It's a fake-fandom type thing. As in, we're "making" the show (as in writing episodes, etc), and we're making the fandom (secrets, fanfiction, icons, etc.)

So yeah, meta-secrets is a good way to put it.

And people wonder why my fiance and I don't want any kids of our own. We'd like to be seen for who we are and what we do ourselves, not what springs forth from my loins. There have been plenty of successful, well-known individuals in history who have contributed many great things to society without ever reproducing, so why should people today be any different?

105-Her getting a number or duet would have been cool, but I disagree with the idea of her singing "Almost There." That's Tiana's song, and Charlotte has everything she wants (but a man), so it wouldn't make much sense.
109 - Why don't you rent it and ask for a friend to come over and watch it with you? Don't blame the movies.
135-I'm not a fan of this pairing and I agree there was no real romantic interaction between them (beyond a butt grope or two from Miroku), but don't generalize people who ship them. There's a lot of morons in the Inuyasha fandom, but really, not everyone's a butthurt shipper.
