2. WORD~!
3. (MY OPINION) It's fine if someone has their own idea of interesting and doesn't find that in a lot of female characters, but when they say "there are no interesting and realistic female characters" as if it were cold hard fact, they're trying to force their ideals. Sounds like your standards are too high.

1. I have that problem with underwater movies. And actually, that part in KH1? I was too nervous to fight the shark.

3. Boss remains, to this day, my favorite female character.

13. RAEP O' CLOCK?

13. RAPE O'CLOCK!

3. AMEN. Seriously, I absolutely agree with everything you said there. It's so true: It's lazy writing that makes them uninteresting, as well as the unoriginality and reptitiveness of their characterization in EVERY SERIES EVER, and the fact that them solely being FEMALE automatically makes them compatible with MAINCHARACTERLUV.

AND YES. THE BOSS IS A MAJOR EXCEPTION. SO MUCH LOVE TO BOTH HER AND THE WRITERS FOR MAKING HER AMAZING. <33333

Seriously, we love everyone there! We would love to have you, honest! (: (: (: (: Everyone's really super nice and cool and stuff. There's nothing to be afraid of. As for talent, I know I'm not the most stellar RP-er out there, but I'm still going for it and having a good time, right? Come on, it's worth a shot! :D

3. Fictional women make you resent all women? What?
I just want to bring up that for some reason, people think that female characters need traditionally "masculine" characteristics in order to be considered a strong woman. I know, I know, I get sick of the "healer/white mage love interest" a lot because of the frequency with which it comes up, but just because a character is that, doesn't make them worthless or weak.

And in my opinion, male characters aren't written better than female characters. They too have their stereotypical traits, can be generic, and downright boring. People just forgive them for it because they have penises and are "hot." As an example you used, I think Sakura from Naruto is actually interesting and strong, whereas, characters like Itachi and the rest of the thousands of Kishimoto's prettyboys that stand around and go "...:|" are boring as hell and have no originality put into them whatsoever.

Boss is fucking awesome, though.

4. Are you a fan of something and do you discuss it with other fans of same? Then you're in fandom. RP, fanfic, fanart are all parts of fandom, but they're not the only parts, and one need not participate in any to be in fandom.

18.) ... is it bad that I thought that that was Neville Longbottom at first glance? D:

3 DO NOT HATE ON CAMERON SHE IS THE BEST EVER

HOW MANY GIRLS IN THE FANDOM TALK ABOUT HOW SEXY AND PERFECT HOUSE IS

AND SHE LIKES HIM AND THEN THEY ARE LIKE WHAT THE SHIT. IT DOESN'T ADD UP. HYPOCRITES.

5. AHAHAHAHAH THAT PICTURE IS IRUKA???

3. You're dumb

11. I think pepe le pew is kinda cute :| like his personality and stuff. ..Okay IRL I'd report him to the police but yeah

Daffy is awesome

6. I hate Kingdom Hearts but all my friends love it. I've found myself with a grudging love for Xigbar, which really doesn't get me anywhere since my friends are all squeeing over Sora, Roxas and Axel. I'd absolutely hate being in the fandom - the sheer size of it would make sure there were at least a few fics with pairings I like, but really, everything popular in KH is why I don't like it.

10. I joined the fandom late too, and I've been told the wank was legendary. I'm pretty happy I avoided it and just got the goodfic. CLAMP wank is bad enough from the sidelines with CCS and TRC, I don't need X/TB.

#3 - Even if it were true that female characters are "always" boring, I don't see how that should lower your opinion of actual women. If anything, I consider poorly-written female characters, particularly those who exist just as love interests for the protagonist, or who are seemingly considered unimportant by the writers, as an affront against women.

And I totally agree with commenters above who have said that female characters don't have to have stereotypically 'masculine' traits to be strong or interesting.

4- Well I feel left out having lame drawing skills, so there! As for ACAW- If I can write there I'm sure you can. I mean really.

5- I've seen that artist, didnt know theyd been done for tracing. The art is good but yeah- really not Iruka. Looks like a girl. Seriously girl. Not Iruka apart from the scar.

13- Raep O'Clock! seriouslyI'msuchawimpthemoviefreakedmeout

I agree with 3 and fuck you, 2. i'd rather be any of the many varieties of male scumbags than any kind of female moron(and most females are). i really hate my gender.

[identity profile] moebot.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
5. I really can't stand her art, always figured she was a tracer. Good to know that I was right.

Not!Fandom: You...uh...resent gyaru?

3. How the hell is Aerith a weak character? No, seriously. I don't get it.

Oh. Because she shows some interest in Cloud and Cloud is obviously buttsecking it with Sephiroth. Sorry, my bad. I forgot.

[identity profile] experienced.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
3. Er. No. Comment.

13. Goodness, just look at the time! ♥

16 makes me laugh way too hard.

[identity profile] infringe.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
4. Uhm. If you can't even put the effort into TRYING, then I agree-- you're not worth our time. ACAW isn't even all that hard to get into, geez. :/

[identity profile] forchancookie.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
2. There's different kinds of fangirls. There's fangirls. And then there's rabid foaming at the mouth teeth gnashing fangirls. They're scary. I hate when people mistake the two. =/

4. Oddly, sometimes I feel like fandom artists form these little artist clubs and trade artist inside jokes. I want to join the "club" but I can't draw ^_^;;

5. Iruka? D= When did you get a sex change operation?! *weeps*

16. I love Alton Brown. Slash with him = YAY!

[identity profile] insanepurin.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
1. The water levels in the Sonic games. The Water Temple in Zelda OoT. And now, you reminded me of Atlantica. *SHUDDER* I dunno about you, but I cheered when all I had to do in KH2 for Atlantica was dance and collect spells.

3. Okay, it's one thing to not like a lotta female folks. Everyone has their own opinion, blah blah blah. But going as far as to hating women IRL? Erm. My gender says, "Excuse me."

I've had similar gripes for a few of the female characters, I admit. But I've also felt the same from guys. People like Lina Inverse and Mint (Threads of Fate) completely own my universe: Sasuke and Sephiroth bore the living hell outta me. It's all about double standards: if Snape was female, people would hate her for being a stuffy bitch.

10. Lucky you! I've been in small fandoms like that, and it's great fun and company. ♥

11. Well, Daffy is cool. XD I grew up on Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner though.

I think it's all about trying, seriously. Becuase, as trite as it sounds, the more you practice, the better you get. If you're really that unsure of your skills, try participating in some "flaky newbie" RPs to practice writing. That's all it takes, I think.
