I would normally think "why not just say it?" but I've seen a lot of literature PhD candidates, and they're pretty darned snooty. ;) But I think you should just tell them, anyway. What the hell, they might have heard of it, too!

MTE, secret-poster. I only just got my flashcart, too! How am I supposed to play those games that I don't like enough to buy?

I know piracy is evilbad, and tbh I don't care -that- much, but my rationalization of it is this: if I play the game and I like it enough, I'll go out and buy it for real, or at least recommend it to my friends to go and buy. (Of course, they'll probably get it used, such is life.)

Oh gosh, those books are nothing to be ashamed of liking - I really think that they're amazing on any number of levels, including the legit ones like character development, plot, etc etc.
