True, but the sheer number of Chinese stereotypes were also out of control, imo. A symptom of the lazy writing, but definitely the most cringe-worthy element, for me.

This secret made me laugh. I saw the picture and "Crowley" and the first thing in my mind was "Hell NO!" :D I didn't even know I cared who they cast and it's not as if I don't like him, but there's no way he can play Crowley.

But people love Luna and have been clamoring to see her again! The fandom just loves Derpy for a different reason-- Derpy's mere existence is a nod towards bronies and the MLP adult fandom that resides at /co/. The fact that Faust and others love and appreciate all of their fans-- young, old, male, female, everyone and anyone-- enough to include this nod to them pleases me. It's not like Derpy's the star-- she's just an easter egg.

And anyway, I feel like Faust said Luna's getting an episode soon, so, if you'll pardon the pun, hold your horses and wait.

Did I say anyone was forcing me to watch it? As mentioned earlier, I enjoy the Canon. I found the BBC show problematic in certain ways, but enjoyable as well. Strangely, I can acknowledge something as problematic and still enjoy it.

I'm just taking issue with the fact the people seem to be reading something into the Bechdel Test that doesn't actually exist.

1. Agree.

2. Eh... I really think there was some racefail, yes. It has less to do with "the bad guys wee Chinese!" and more with the way ALL the Chinese characters, good or bad, were portrayed.

3. Honestly, I don't care much for the Bledchel test, anyway.

4. I don't care that Moriarty is a White guy. I think he's annoying, over the top panto villain better suited to bad a Saturday morning cartoon, but his race and gender don't bother me. As you say, it actually might have been worse if they'd made him a minority.

uh.... slash is any sort of story that explores relationships between queer individuals and porn is... porn? There's a bit of a world of difference going on there, so you should be careful with the terms you use, it might sound way more offensive than you're trying to be.

I didn't want a 3DS anyway, anon, and really don't after hearing the screen is crappy when the 3D is off. I am 100% with you on the flash cart. I finally got one and it is the love of my life. I don't feel bad for pirating on the DS. I'm a pretty law-abiding person in general and support games/franchises with new games when I'm able, but my flashcart has helped me narrow down game choices and has probably saved me $200 in buying games I discovered I hated and could never have stuck with. It's led to me buying a few games, too. That doesn't even out or "justify" it, but that's not my goal. If I wanted to always feel good about myself, I wouldn't have bought a flashcart in the first place. Not to mention Nintendo handhelds are a notorious dumping ground for buggy, terrible shovelware disguised as fun games.

Give it a year, anon. The 3DS price will be down, reviews will be out, and they'll have all the new stuff cracked. Then you can make a decision.

Firstly, I ship R/Hr. But that argument stems from what those shippers consider important in a relationship and for anti-R/Hr shippers, that was intellictualism. So to them, Ron was not on Hermione's level. (I disagree with this. Sometimes Ron was more perceptive than Hermione, especially in OOtP, and you can't play chess without being somewhat clever).

Yeah, being a female fan of Eminem is always something I've kept close to the vest--particularly because I have so many LGBT friends. Aside from the whole multiple-personas angle, it does seem like he's matured quite a bit in his attitudes, so I don't feel quite as bad as I once did. But it's still an issue I think about a lot.
