I think I just died a little inside. NO.

The original plan for the game was to have Aerith and Sephiroth have some kind of past history together. Obviously what we got was very different, but the fact is that it could have very well been that way.

Seriously, I'm not on it yet, but I think I like the whole idea of it for macros and picspam. That's groovy.

But it just kind of depresses me that a lot of people I used to follow in lj switched over to Tumblr and Twitter. It's just...sad. I mean, hell, I'm on Twitter more than lj these days, and I don't see that happening much longer because on Twitter you just feel like you're talking into a void. Which is fine if I just have, like, one little thing to say and felt like getting it out there. But there are things I'll say on Twitter than on LJ would've started an interesting and fun conversation...except that everyone's on freaking twitter now.

Mostly, I just don't get why a lot of the art folks moved to Tumblr. There's blogger or whatever and LJ and both of them are fine for posting pictures. Better, even, with lj-cuts and all (unless Tumblr has that function too?). And you can get gasp feedback!

Whatever, man, I don't even get facebook, really. I'll just be over here yelling at kids to get off my virtual lawn.

I think it's obvious that Takatsuki wants to be a boy, is male gendered, and is trans. Even just from watching the anime so far....

But what confuses me is whether Takatsuki should be referred to as male or female (at least at this point in the series, up to date with the anime). Should I use he, appropriately for Takatsuki's gender? Or, because Takatsuki is currently living as a girl and is not taking action to be recognised as a boy, should that be respected?

Usually in fandoms I would just match the gender and the pronoun regardless of anything else, but this time I don't know. Hourou Musuko just seems such a realistic series and I don't know what Takatsuki would want to be used.

So, it's still ok to have sex with children, even though they don't know what they want or even if they like sex? Just because it's technically within the bounds of the law doesn't mean it's ok. Having morals is what separates us from the apes.

Assuming the OP is serious: people already are making songs for the victims. One I already know off the top of my head is "pray for".

To the rest of this thread: NND was donating money if people put special advertising on their videos. So yes, if someone put a new Miku video on NND, they could be helping the cause in a realistic way. I'm not sure how much they donate because I'm not personally uploading, but I've heard they've donated somewhere over a million already doing this.

The thought of possible slash to my novel is what makes my skin crawl. That's not because I don't like slash, but because somehow I managed to create a very obvious possibility for a m/m/m threesome. *facepalm* I'm strongly opposed to the idea of this particular set up, but the problem is it's a very obvious. No slasher in their right mind would pass something like that up. It's like my characters went and ganged up on me, you know? It's like they're doing this on purpose. Grrr!

tygress) is more of a general MWPP fic with R/S and J/L as the main pairings but it is amazing and has some awesome James/Sirius scenes. And this (http://community.livejournal.com/padfootnprongs/79088.html) one (Next Time by

graceland428, which is an NC-17 fic. It's not really what I'm into anymore (the over-use of British colloquialism in particular), but it's pretty hot.

Sweetie, that's just it. Your definition of "decent" isn't the same as everyone's definition of "decent." My mother's definition of "decent" is that everyone should worship god the exact same way, wear clothing that covers them from wrist to ankle, women should only wear skirts and never cut their hair and men should have super-short hair. That doesn't make that the correct definition of "decent." Same with people who think tattoos--all tattoos--and piercings are "indecent." No, it doesn't work that way.

If someone makes porn and then forwards it to you to be mean, then yeah, that person's being a dickweed. It's the act of deliberately trying to upset you that might give you a leg to stand on (though worth remembering that internet culture works just like any folktale--people are always waiting to see anyone with too high an opinion of themselves get taken down a peg). But the act of creating it? Sharing it with fellow fans? No. There's nothing inherently indecent about that, insofar as your feelings are concerned. In fact, it's pretty unfair of you to act like you have the right to control what people say, do, or create.

Yes, that includes what they say, do, or create with your characters. If you want them to stay pristine and perfect and pure, then the only thing you can do is never ever let another human being read your story. People think.
