While I have never shipped them, the show seems to definitely be moving towards Kurt forgiving him and them being at least friends. Of course, Kurt trying to force Karofsky to come out at Prom is going to set them back.

Especially after Karaofsky cried like that. The guy obviously feels bad/confused and he is a young adult trying to make up for it, so...I root for Kurt being friends/mentor for him :U

Because obviously:

1) Kurt is a saint and has never done anything to hurt anyone ever. In fact, little birds and squirrels follow him to class perched on his Gucci clad shoulder and sing in his wake. Tra. La. La.

2) Looks are the only thing that determines a persons treatment in life. So we should totes only be nice to pretty/cute/handsome people because OBVIOUSLY they are far superior/better/nicer than the rest of the ugly/fat/defective peons.

ITA. I don't ship it--I'm a Klaine girl, I'm afraid--and I also don't think it will be canon because I think the writers are committed to Klaine and want Kurt to have a 'perfect' relationship because, well, let's face it: he's Saint Kurt and RM's author avatar, and his character is largely wish fulfillment for him. Sorry, but that's how it is. RM has all but blatantly confirmed it. HOWEVER, regardless, I absolutely agree that liking a certain pairing or style of fictional relationship DOES NOT MEAN you would approve of anything to do with it in real life, and I am kind of appalled at this fandom's lack of grip on reality. I mean, I ship Mrs. Lovett/Sweeney Todd, but I don't actually think throwing people into ovens is sexy, for Chrissake.

Mm, yes, it is too much to ask. And honestly boggling. I cannot for the life of me understand the fangirls weeping themselves stupid over every slightly bad thing that happened to Kurt earlier in the series and condemning any character that even looked at him the wrong way, yet this is apparently acceptable and hot. Writing someone a free pass to act like that because they are gay is a shitty, shitty message to send.

Anyway, I have read somewhere that Chris Colfer himself is not for this pairing because it hits too close to home. I've also heard that Klaine is the pairing RM decided he wants to get off to.

There are hardly any romantic relationships on this show that would be remotely healthy in real life. Maybe Klaine and that's why people think it's boring and stupid, but that's only a maybe.

And frankly, some of this fandom ships Quinn/Rachel, which I don't really see as any different, maybe less intense, but it never gets called out on.

The reason I can't ship them is not because of "sexual assault" (holy crap people, he's just a frustrated and confused character who impulsively acted out his feelings) but because of how badly he bullied Kurt. I'm all for friend or mentor!Kurt, but I frankly don't see a romantic relationship becoming canon.

I do agree that people should get off the backs of Kurtofsky shippers; they're nowhere near as bad as some other ships out there. If kink-shaming is not okay (please don't start a debate about this), why should ship-shaming be?

I know I've asked people to explain mainly because I find the reasoning behind most people who ship Kurtofsky to be something like "aww, isn't Dave just a big teddy bear and it's adorable because Kurt will look after and hug him" and stuff like that. If shippers held Karofsky accountable for the fact that he threatened Kurt's life... I don't know. No matter the reason I know I'll NEVER ship Kurtofsky (If it becomes canon I'm just not watching Glee anymore. I find it that repugnant), but every time I've seen people ship it it's like the shippers are in some kind of fantasy world where it's like "aww isn't Dave ADOWABLE?" when all I see is a guy who threatened to kill Kurt. So sorry, I need some explanation.

I've always rolled my eyes over Kurtofsky. But I'm starting to not only wonder if it's going to happen, but feeling like I wouldn't hate it. Difference is, OP... I waited until there was SOMETHING THERE. It's not so much that I found it offensive, I found it to be complete tin-hatting. Since "Prom Queen", now there's something to work with.
