See, that's just it. If you don't mean it in a negative way, then I don't hold it against you. If someone else is offended for a legitimate reason (legitimate reasons include "your statement is one that further emphasizes hurtful stereotypes that I face every day," but not "ohmigawd you don't even know I have like 7 gay best friends and my sister is black and actually I've never met an Indian but I'll bet that what you said would hurt their feelings don't you know anything????"), it would be nice if you're willing to apologize. If you're not, then be prepared to be blamed. If they're just there to guilt you so that they can feel better about themselves - if they're only "insulted" because it's fashionable to take every little slight personally, no matter who the supposed victim is - then really, you've nothing to apologize for.

True, but I would say the vast majority do experience it at least once in their lifetime. It may not be everlasting and it's more probable it'd be short lived. Point being a one-sided relationship is not the same as being involved in a relationship where the other person is aware and gives back.

I really, really, really cannot judge, for just oh-so-many reasons. Besides, it's just a great movie anyway. (Do you have the director's cut full-length version? Because their relationship is, er, different than in the theatrical release.)

I hate this too. Oh my gosh people. An actor or actress is not the same as his or her darn character. Arrrgh.

But honestly, shipping real people, ESPECIALLY people you don't know personally, creeps me out really bad anyway. (And then when it gets to writing porn about them... ohmigosh it's creepy as heck.)

One of my best friends is a HUGE Homestuck fan and has definitely fangirled about it in front of me, but I don't think worse of her for it. I have no idea about much of it, but hey, it's not my cup of tea. Obsessive internet fans definitely make things less desirable, but that doesn't change the original object of the fandom or people who like it.
