(omg I miss Frontier so much.. I have bittersweet memories of it, but still... I remember it more fondly than even Adventure and oh man I want to watch it again, even the dub)

I blame the Winklevii from The Social Network.. even though I was already aware that they were not really twins. I had trouble paying much attention to their scenes because I was just imagining Cameron and Tyler.. ahem.. o___o;

Oh and now Charles/Wesley (X-Men/Wanted) crossover fic is pretty hot too. McAvoy on McAvoy action. \o/

I've been meaning to watch this series because I've been told it has really great female characters in a space opera plot, which is both pretty hard to find and very relevant to my interests. Can anybody tell me a bit about it?

yesssssss. it's the 25th anniversary series of macross and admittedly i may be biased bc i adore sheryl beyond words but yes it is great. i would definitely recommend it to you. basically, humanity has spread out throughout the galaxy on giant world-ships, looking for new planets to colonize. this series takes place on one of those ships, and it revolves around sheryl nome, the girl in the secret, a intergalactic super star, alto, a pilot for a private mercenary group, and ranka, a schoolgirl who wants to be a singer, and how their lives intersect as the ship comes under threat.

if you're not into music (there is a lot of it in the series) and the power of song, it might not be for you, but it is definitely epic and a great story. plus sheryl is one of the greatest female anime characters of the past decade, so. there's a 25 episode series, and two movies, the latter of which has not been subbed yet.

I feel sorry for all the people who got their secrets posted while LJ was essentially down for the count. But YEA I'm hoping this up time means that LJ is truly up now.

39) I think our own OC's get an automatic boost over other peoples simply by benefit that by making them, we're already emotionally invested in them. We are also already emotionally invested in the canon characters, because the canon sold us on them. But other people's OCs? We don't know them from jack, and we distrust them.

TBH -- I get this way in canon too. If they introduce a new major character after the main cast is established, I am highly distrustful of that character for a few episodes. Then I kind of grudgingly get used to them, and I learn to like them. But it takes a while for me to warm up.

I don't think in fanfic we generally give that time to warm up to an OC, unless they are snuck in through the backdoor by being useful to the plot in a way that doesn't upstage the other characters.

He really is the best character in the series, in my opinion. Perhaps not so much the one I'd get along with the best, but his relationship with his daughter and how he deals with his emotions just makes him beautiful to me.

26. THAT's why people like Frontier. I think it's decent but probably the worst digimon series, myself (which isn't saying a lot because I think every digimon series is freaking amazing) and when people mention it I think of its flaws. It didn't occur to me that it does have some pretty neat characters who it's easy to grow attached to.

39. As opposed to OC fics which maintain nothing but the setting from the canon? (I see a lot of those for pokemon, and I... completely love them. And have written a couple. Don't know many other people who do, though, and there probably aren't too many settings detailed enough to do it with, though there are quite a few. And yeah this is a tangent.)

17. JESUS BALLS, THIS. I adore them together and am 100% convinced they're doing that shit on purpose, and I have no idea why no one gets it. Cesare/Lucrezia is lovely and I'm all for it, but hello?! With the swordfights and the "and I would serve you with one eye, my lord, or none" and shit?!

25. :\ I dunno, man. Remus is my fave character in the books, and it's pretty much entirely personality, and the movies just really don't capture him well at all, with the exception of PoA. We don't see his sweet, caring side, we just see his angsty side. I'd like to think it's more about the way he's misrepresented and less about the fact that he's not a ~hottie. He's not supposed to be, anyway. (But what about the Team McGregor vs. Team Wenham argument? LOL @ "good-looking man," though. BOY HOWDY, is he ever. :9)

29. It totally has for me, except it's far more emotional than sexual. I just love twin dynamics to a scary degree and keep tearing up every time I see shit on Tumblr about Fred and George and James/Oliver's comments about filming the death scene and shit. Like, legit tears. In public. It's bad.

#29. I totally agree. Give me the emotional stuff. I do read twincest fic but the somehow always end up skipping the porny parts. I wanna see the fall out from it or see how they deal with it, because how can that not be just a giant mess? What if their family finds out? What if their friends find out? How can that possibly end well? Ah, the drama, the angst. I love it.

The quote from Oliver about filming Fred's death that's going around on Tumblr is fake though (the one that says he burst into tears when he saw James on on the stretcher). So is the one from Dan about how the twins said 'I love you' to each other after the scene. James fell asleep while they were shooting that scene and that the cast and crew all went to lunch after they finished the scene and James woke up on an empty set.

I would think it's relatively quiet because we haven't seen that much of their interaction in canon. Which makes sense because if we did it'd shatter all the mysteries.

This is my favorite manga of all time (OF ALL TIME) and I never, EVER meet anyone who has even heard of it, oh my god. Seeing Ogiue again made me smile so much.

Don't worry OP, I've been in your boat. Just be yourself. You don't have to admit you're a fujoshi - that's part of you. If someone finds out and then teases you about it maliciously, screw 'em - but if they're a real friend they're not gonna do that (unless they're a bible thumper or something I guess).
