Oh dear...... I am sure not all are like that, though.

Uh, I understand the concept of compartmentalisation but I'm always afraid that I'll fuck it up in practice (post the wrong link, send the wrong email). I never have yet, but I'm a bit neurotic that way.

For the first time ever, I'm seriously not enjoying watching characters I like suffer. I just want everyone to have a happy ending ;_;

I'm steeling myself for the episode when Rock Bison finally gets some focus, because once that's over, the poor guy is dead, I can just feel it...

I've always liked her, partially because there aren't a lot of female characters like that. There's a lot of male cops in police procedurals like this, though. I sometimes get annoyed at the way Rhys is written inconsistently - one second worried about Gwen, then excited about aliens, then, "bloody Torchwood!" then proud, then "that was the most terrible time of our lives!" Can you see Jason Bourne's girlfriend or Jack Ryan's wife from the Tom Clancy series spending that much time griping? And I do like Rhys, but he has to see that Gwen's a different, happier person when she has a purpose.

This, I always thought Link and Zelda were the ~love that can never be~, like at the end of the LttP tie-in comic.

I never got the hate for Gwen.

Agreed that scene kicked it in the ass.

I think it's because their relationship was introduced a lot later than the other kid/patron trolls pair ups. John/Vriska took quite a while to pick up fans as well (yeah, partly because a lot of Rose/Kanaya and Dave/Terezi shippers had already settled into shipping John/Karkat to complete what I like to call the 'Xeno Ship Snack Pack'). We're only just getting to see Karkat and Jade as friends in the really recent updates so...

At least I hope it's not due to a disinterest in Jade :C :C :C

I think thats Alphas. One of the characters has super senses.

It's not great, but its not terrible.

I've never played the games, probably never will, but I stumbled onto the songs one day and fell in love instantly. All of them are epic, but Cosmoflips is probably one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.

I feel sorry for all the people who got their secrets posted while LJ was essentially down for the count. But YEA I'm hoping this up time means that LJ is truly up now.

39) I think our own OC's get an automatic boost over other peoples simply by benefit that by making them, we're already emotionally invested in them. We are also already emotionally invested in the canon characters, because the canon sold us on them. But other people's OCs? We don't know them from jack, and we distrust them.

TBH -- I get this way in canon too. If they introduce a new major character after the main cast is established, I am highly distrustful of that character for a few episodes. Then I kind of grudgingly get used to them, and I learn to like them. But it takes a while for me to warm up.

I don't think in fanfic we generally give that time to warm up to an OC, unless they are snuck in through the backdoor by being useful to the plot in a way that doesn't upstage the other characters.

Or made them both men. Seems like most people hate them because it gets in the way of Sirius/Lupin.

If I had to ship anyone it would be them or Harry/Luna. I'm just not much of a shipper.

I'm still hoping. CLAMP likes to push the envelope, so I'm sure they wouldn't be too anxious about continuing the series (earthquakes and all) once a respectful amount of time has passed. The only problem is finding a willing publisher... but it's CLAMP. If anyone can make something like this happen, they can. Still, I won't be holding my breath or anything, haha.

No, Remus/Tonks was by far the most popular Lupin het ship. People noticed the hints in OotP, which I scoffed about at the time. Possibly because I too viewed them both as coded gay, or Lupin at the very least. And because people always saw "hints" between any two members of the opposite sex as possible future romances in HP.

Charlie/Tonks was pretty popular, too, but not as popular as Lupin/Tonks.

I see you with your Prince of Space crossover icon.

He really is the best character in the series, in my opinion. Perhaps not so much the one I'd get along with the best, but his relationship with his daughter and how he deals with his emotions just makes him beautiful to me.

Rhys made sense to me. I mean, I do not like him as such, but I can very much see him as a real person. Now, whether he s the right match for Gwen is another matter. But being "the more adventurous" person in my own relationship, I can sort of see that duality in my boyfriend. On one hand, he's like "my girlfriend should be brave enough to do anything in the world", and he'll even tag along but on the other hand he'd just like to sit watching TV with me.

A lot of my previous dislike about Gwen really did have to do about how she dealt with her personal relationship, and how she as presented to us as the "heart" of the team, while to me she was often equally problematic in nature and morality as the rest of Torchwood - with the exception she rarely owned up to it. While Jack is often presented of very shady morality, and is a terrible flirt - I think I've seen him care more on screen than her. But, like I said - my opinions are changing with the new series. Which is good. And I adore Rex.

Yeah, I'd choose her too. :) Except Assassin's Creed is keeping me away. MUST FINISH BROTHERHOOD.

Right - and it's different for every game. And hell, if you ship it in one game, it makes other games... awkward. Like, I love Link/Zelda in Spirit Tracks. But that pretty much josses Tetra/Link in Wind Waker, because I don't think Zelda would be particularly romantically interested in someone who looks identical to her grandfather XD;; (And who may actually be her cousin, if ST!Link is a blood descendent of WW!Link!)
