Ugh, I hate having OCD. It is incredibly painful. I don't have that particular trigger, but I'm sorry you can't enjoy reading because of the numbers!

I do enjoy reading F!S, but it's more like constant background anxiety while I'm reading and commenting. I end up F5ing a lot towards the end of a night, and hoping that the secrets won't be too boring for everyone else.

*hugs* What sort of OCD do you have, if you don't mind me asking? The only time that my OCD got really painful is when my brain decided (this was only once, thank god, and probably triggered by really, really bad stress over school) 'You aren't allowed to get up from this computer or do anything fun or productive until you play a perfect game of computer solitaire. if you have to flip the deck even once you have to start over.' I was up for 30 hours and by the end of the ordeal I was in exhausted tears.

I have a similar thing with my OCD tendencies. I have a thing about the numbers 3,5, or 9, and multiplications thereof, and sometimes if a post count isn't on the right number, I feel compelled to post something just because that 'wrong' number annoys me so much.

My 'bad' number is 7. I swear that digit is downright malignant, and can only be compensated/redeemed with a friendlier 4 or 2.

The F!S post thing is more like a game my OCD plays with me. If it can make it over a fourth digit, it'll be a good day. If it doesn't...

My brain will sometimes dispense 'games' or 'challenges' almost as a whim, mostly about foot placement over tessellated surfaces like bricks, checkered linoleum tiles, or sidewalks. (If it's the checkered linoleum surface problem, I have to walk like a chess knight, left foot on darker squares and right on lighter squares. Brick-walking is much harder, and much, much slower.) I have to double-check things a lot, too, but my room is surprisingly messy.

Crap, I was the same way with tiles, bricks, etc. I had to make sure that both feet touched the "lighter ones" and that both also touched the "darker ones" when they were checkered tiles, and not touching lines, or touching them equally with both feet, or things like that. I still don't know how I broke out of it (I think that realizing that doing that made me crash into people and trip way too often helped a lot).

I think I used to be bad with numbers (they all had to be even. ALL OF THEM.) What I'm getting at is, that, that stuff is not completely invincible!

Seven is my "bad" number, too! My old job involved me double-checking numbers all day. If I had a page without a 7 on it, I "won." I can see 2 and 4 being friendly. I think 3 and 9 are "cool." However, 7 is just an asshole.

There are also times where I will/will not comment on something just to avoid a 7 in the comment number.

I would say that I don't have OCD, but this comment seems to be proving me wrong.

Same, mine is just really bizarre. I HATE odd numbers unless it's multiple's of five, I also hate numbers ending in 7 or 9; i hate numbers ending in 1 except regular 1 and for some reason, 21, don't like numbers ending in 4 or 6 except 24. basically two, five and eight are my "safe" numbers

i always get really squirmy when i'm with someone and they turn up the radio or tv volume to like 13 or something

Plus I have to turn things up to volumes/numbers that are not-prime, perferably multiples of 5 or 10. 3 is okay, but not as good as 5 or ten.
