I don't know, a hot guy might be an incentive for me to give a show a try even if I didn't find it interesting otherwise, but I certainly wouldn't stick around and watch a show I find stupid/boring just because there's a hot guy. Of course hot guys help, but one hot guy alone won't make up for a show I completely hate otherwise.

I think, to some extent, it's fair that there isn't much in the way of sexual thoughts. I think he should have had some and would have, but I think the majority of his thoughts were focused on the issue of Voldemort. Again, not saying that he shouldn't have any at all/didn't have any becasue he is still a fifteen year old, straight (as far as book/movie canon outwardly state) boy.

I'm not active in the fandom, but I think it gets a worse reputation than it deserves. The crazy people are just louder than the normal people.

I just found OP's conclusion that they can't get the show just because they don't find the main characters hot a bit weird.

Okay, I'm giving up on finding rhyme or reason. How do you decide which topics end up in the failbar?

I mean the nulls. Broken links, N!S, N!F and Too big are regular sections, but then some days there'll be hitshipspiration, TITC and OMGIKT blocks even if they're empty. And then the next day there'll be a [0 HSS] section but not the others. I'm officially confuzzled.

Is it the characters or the actors you don't find attractive? I don't really find the actors all that physically attractive (I think they seem hella awesome and I would probably die from squee if I ever got to meet them, but I'm not really attracted to any of them), but the characters? Totally. It's all about the character personalities and their relationships with each other, plus the story used to be very interesting and captivating, and all of it kind of mixed together and made me love the show and the characters. *shrug*

But, yeah...why try to force yourself to watch it if you can't seem to get into it? Either you like something or you don't, and if you don't, I don't see the point in spending time and effort on it just because.

No you wouldn't. I'm sure that even if there was 10 times as many showers with bisexual/homosexual characters right this day, there would still be shipping of straight characters gay, gay characters straight, and everybody with bizzare fetishes including robotics, bestiality, and whatever furies are into on a given day.

Because that is the nature of shipping. Always has been. Always will be.
