8. That art confuses me, especially the angle of the guy's neck. I know that getting pounded from behind by a vampire lord isn't supposed to be the most pleasant of experiences, but the way his head is tilted back doesn't look particularly comfortable.

For me, it's about the emotions of it. I don't ever SEE the rock stars getting personally upset that their stuff is being distributed. I don't SEE canons where people get angry at fanart.

I do, however, see fanartists who are upset when people shittily crop and tint their work.

To be honest, I'd have respected your secret a hell of a lot more if any of those icons hadn't sucked. If you wanted to take a piece of art and make a sexy icon out of it, I'd probably think it represented the piece well, and wasn't bad press. But crappy crops and bland colouring only reduces the worth of the original in the eyes of anyone who sees that icon.

Maybe it's just me, but I kind of figured the secret maker probably just cropped a ton of art for the background, and didn't actually use icons.

If I were a fan artist i'd feel flattered that people liked my work enough to use it in a graphic, fan artists tend to be the whiniest of all people on the interbutts.

Icons are serious business.

I think so too, and I only believe in the legitimacy of the shipper if the person ships something different than Ichigo/Rukia, like Ichigo/Orihime, or Ishida/Rukia, unfair I know, but it makes me suspicious to see an Ichigo/Rukia going "I hate Orihime so much, but she and Ulqui make such a kewt couple".

PS: And I'm an Ichigo/Rukia shipper.

9. Totally agree. There's no difference than using Nomura's art for icons than using a fan-artists version of it (key word there: Fanart). If it's fanart, then they have nothing to really complain about because it's not their creation to begin with. Their drawing, but not their original work. Big difference. Personally, I would find it flattering. As long as you're not claiming it as your work or selling it for profit, I don't see a problem. But, there are, like, a bajillion people who disagree with me so....meh *shurgs*.

I would actually, honestly, find it hilarious if anybody wanted to use my fanart for icons. It'd amuse me if they didn't credit me, but it's not like I own the characters, so I can't bitch; just point and be all "lulz that's my shitty art you're using there :D".

7. ...I... LOVE YOU? You know, I love the random pairings us Bleach fans can come up with but... I just want this pairing to die already. It's not as fun as it used to be in the beginning. Now, every insane shipper (the ones who look too hard for "canon") think even him glimpsing at her and her backing away in fear is "love". Why is she suddenly just going to drop her love for Ichigo? Somebody explain how someone would suddenly fall in love with the enemy, after being beaten by the enemy's comrades and oh by the way, Ulquiorra insulted her friends, remember? While he blabbed about how they were stupid and going to die, Orihime basically went, "STFU!" and slapped him. I don't consider that true love at all. In other words: stop those crazy shippers from declaring it canon. ;~;

Stockholm Syndrome is probably the excuse most use – intentionally or unintentionally – but every single time I have seen someone do it, they've failed to actually research what the syndrome entails and how it works. My only experience may be one class time's worth of a Psychology course and a bunch of online reading, but even I know what these people are writing is sooooooo not working. Orihime has been there for HOW long? She's hardly had time to come to even like him, let alone love him, and I don't care what people say about "love at first sight".

No one looks at their kidnapper, who kills their bodyguards and literally threatens death to others upon first close encounter, and goes "I'm in love with you." But I could ---- sllllllllllllllliiiiiiiiiiightly with a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge amount of good writing --- imagine someone pulling UlquiHime off as a Stockholm Syndrome deal.

Fuck yes. I understand that there are shippers who are completely off their rocker and might be rightfully called delusional, but it's so obnoxious whenever anyone gets on their high horse over a ship. It smacks of "neener neener, I won!" ... then again I come from the FF7 fandom days of yore, where the only reasonable way to enjoy a pairing was to rub it gleefully in someone else's face while simultaneously shooting them down.
