I agree completely. My friend started me off on Death Note, and she has a big issue with spoilers. She wouldn't tell me ANYTHING even if I begged. Then her boyfriend went and ruined most of the ending for me just because I shipped a yaoi pairing.

Why can't people just let someone decide for themselves? If they don't want the spoilers, they shouldn't have to have it forced onto them.

I always ask first, even if I'm dying of excitement and NEED to talk about it. I'll just go talk to someone else who already knows.

And I'm really sorry about that -- I would HATE HATE HATE if it had happened to me. The shock factor was probably the best part.

I believe the main points of argument for creepy and disturbing were: incest (or the...implication thereof, I guess?), evil lesbians, and pretend rape. D: These things are JUST NOT FUNNY ever apparently. (Well pretend rape really isn't funny so much as fucked up, but still, you get the point.)

2 - I don't know, I keep spoiling myself at everything and I still manage to enjoy the series/game/whatever, sometimes even more so then if I didn't spoil myself. Though I must admit, getting spoiled by someone else when I didn't ask for it sucks.

24 - IAWTC. Honestly, I never liked his art, I remember back "in the old days" when people complained the FF sprites weren't like the art, I felt like the only one who thought: "Isn't that a GOOD thing?"
