Personally, I thought it was hilarious. Also Chel was my first girl-crush, so there was that.

Hell no! I love the whole historical adventure thing, the music, the characters, etc. I mean, yes, I do love how slashy it is -- but a movie/book/whatever needs more than just that for me to love it.

Mmm...I loved it because 1. I thought it was hilarious, 2. I adore musicals, 3. I adore Elton John, and 4. Chel is a good female character [and I am, admittedly, picky about female characters]

Then, way down here at 5. I love that the gayness [Sorry, but I do actually think they have more chemistry than Chel does with either. /shrugs]

I couldn't get through more than half of it, so why other people may like it is a mystery to me.

Maybe for some. Those two certainly were fun to watch for me, even if I wasn't as into the rest of the movie.

Well I think their relationship in general is a big part of why people enjoy the film so much, and the slashiness happens to be part of that. So it's not so much a matter of 'omg gay!' as 'their relationship is awesome and adorbs and the heart of the film', if that makes you feel better.

Am I the only one who doesn't ship them? I mean, I don't mind people shipping them at all, but I just... liked Tulio/Chel and them as bffs so much better.

Which is weird because I usually trip over myself to ship best friends. But these guys?

eh tbh i felt like they could've done a lot more with the ending ie: having cortes attack & people banding together more instead of just that

otherwise no im sure most people liked it for other reasons it was enjoyable just not as much as i expected from all the squeeing

I love it for the humour and characters in general.

It was hilarious, the animation is fantastic, the character interaction is delightful and Chel was amazing.

The gayness is nowhere near the top of my list of why I love this movie.

I practically have no slash goggles, I just see them as good friends. But I love the animation, the story, the characters, and especially the music.

I loved it before I even knew what slash was. I still do love it for more than that, especially since I don't really slash them anyways.

I think when people say "the gayness" is what they love, what they really mean is that Tulio and Miguel are one of those on-screen pairs that just works so perfectly. They're exactly in balance, and their exchanges are just hilarious. They do come off as very couple-y, and maybe that's why people describe it that way, but it might just be their whole b/romance that they mean.

I really did love this movie. I didn't get why Chel had to end up with one of them (Girls and guys can't just be partners in crime?), but I still adored her.

I liked it because it was hilarious, and pretty, and the characters were awesome (not just Tuliio and Miguel — Chel and Altivo and the Chief and Tzekel-Kan were awesome too). I loved the voice acting and banter between the characters and the idea of making "those two wacky comic relief characters" that always crop up in other movies to support the usually less-interesting protagonist into the main characters. I loved the musical numbers and the animation too.

The gayness was just the cherry on top. :)

It was fun in general, but I have to admit that one of the main reasons I enjoyed it so much was because even PHYSICALLY the two of them resemble the two characters that my fiance and I were RPing and shipping like FedEx back around the time we got together.

I couldn't not see it.

Apart from the gay, I also thought it was funny, Chel was awesome, and I loved the animation.

Eeeee Road to El'Dorado! And their epic bromance is not my sole reason for liking this movie, it's just absolutely brilliant. I love Antivo, I love Chel, I love the creeptastic high priest, I love the leader of the village. Basically a whole lotta love for this movie.

I love that movie for so many different reasons.

I also never really thought of it as gay because I knew in real life when the movie came out these two guys who were BEST FRIENDS. Like, for serious, super close friends with never a sexy thought in sight. And these two guys looked almost exactly the same as the characters. So I always just connected Miguel and Tulio to those two guys, and didn't think about it as being gay.

(Not that I care one way or another, I just adore that movie.)
