Do you like any characters that are pariahs in your fandom?

I like Reed Richards. I don't think he's an evil soulless poophead. The rest of the fandom strongly disagrees.

Also, since a lot of Vocaloid fans seem to hate the English Vocaloids for some reason: I adore Prima and Sweet Ann... and sometimes Sonika (she can sound good when used properly, I swear).

So I love Zachariah the douchebag angel from SPN.

Also I didn't hate chibi-usa from Sailor Moon. I think that means I'm doing something wrong.

Allison is my second favorite character in Teen Wolf, but it seems she's the least popular in the fandom. Though I wasn't a huge fan of her in season one, she really grew on me towards the end of season one and all of season two. I really love her arc of wanting to become stronger, and how she's kind of fucked up but trying to deal with it.

Wait... so is that why in the Avengers movie fandom whenever Reed Richards is mentioned the characters hate him? Because I was looking for a canon reason but couldn't find one. It's kind of sad if that's true.

As for a character I like that no one else seems to? Um, well, I never had a problem with Tidus from FFX.

I really like Chase from House, I know there are people in fandom who like him but my RL friends that watch House as well always give me side-eyes xD

Also I like Lucifer from Supernatural but I'm not sure if that's that rare anymore.

Oh and Lisa from Supernatural I thikn people still don't like her?

Victoria "Iron" Gates from "Castle," and Tara from "Leverage."

Back in the day, I also loved Doggett and Reyes from "The X-Files."

Liking characters everyone hates is my main reason for staying away from what would be my main fandom. =|

From their respective games, Collete Brunel(Tales of Symphonia) and Karol Capel(Tales of Vesperia) are my favourites and everyone seems to hate them. I couldn't even find a ToV guide that didn't insult Karol at some point. Ugh.

I like both Keller and Weir on Stargate Atlantis, and I run into a lot of stuff on them that is not very nice. Makes me sad because they're both pretty cool.

Garcia from Criminal Minds. I think she's awesome but all I seem to see online is people complaining about how annoying they think she is.

Scrappy Doo from Scooby Doo

Colette Brunel (sp?) from Tales of Symphonia

I suspect voice acting is at work here; I watched Scooby Doo dubbed and Scrappy comes across as cute, not annoying like in the original English, and other people who watched it dubbed said they liked him just fine when I asked them.

Same for Colette Brunel: her cutscenes annoyed me until I opened the menu and turned off voice acting.

(Baten Kaitos appears to be by the same people or something, because the voice acting is annoying as fuck there AND it also has an option to turn it off. Somebody working there knows how awful the voice acting is and wants to spare the players that torture.)

I like Mako from TLOK. He is basically the whipping boy of the fandom. And wooooboy do they love to get their hate-on with him.

I like Sakura Haruno. Yes, even pre-time skip.

And...hmmm. Actually, I adore nearly all or the female Naruto characters, so I'm pretty alone in the general fandom on that. On the upside, other people who like the female characters are usually pretty cool.

Oh! I also REALLY like Misa Misa! She was seriously my favorite character in Death Note other than Ryuuk (and that was a tie of favorites, not Ryuuk being better or something).

I love Reed Richards so much I can't even describe it. You are not alone. And he wasn't a soulless evil poophead until around 2005 when Marvel decided that smart people are all evil emotionless computers who can't understand these silly things like morals and ethics and friendship and loyalty and human rights and dignity and have no conscience. Classic Reed was awesome and terrifying and his relationship with Doom is one of my favorite hero/villain relationships in existence.

My two favorite HIMYM characters and Ted and Lily, the two characters who get bashed the most.

I love Will Bailey from The West Wing like burning, but no one GAF about him.

I also like Cyclops from the X-Men, but I think that's because everyone hates him. It may not be on his own merits.

I really like Deanna Troi from Star Trek: TNG. I do wonder why she was on the bridge, but I think she was awesome.

I know there are a lot more, and I'll probably add to this later, because I almost inevitably start liking the characters that my fandom hates every single time.

I know it's popular here and on ONTD to like Skyler White, but the vast majority of Breaking Bad fandom still hates her, so. Skyler. :(

I also am apparently literally the only person who didn't despise Declan and Charlotte on Revenge.

Adam Milligan, the half-brother in SPN. I know he was just a very minor character, but I really loved him, and about half of fandom doesn't.

To them, if he gets close to either of his brothers (as ghoul!Adam started to do in Jump the Shark), OMG THAT LITTLE SHIT IS GETTING IN THE WAY OF SAM AND DEAN'S MAGICAL BROMANCE. If he's not quick to love them, OMG, HE'S SUCH A LITTLE ASSHOLE. HOW CAN HE NOT TRUST THESE CHARACTERS I LOVE WHOM HE'S NEVER EVEN MET BEFORE AND HAS BEEN WARNED AWAY FROM??? HOW!

Poor bb. He just can't win and he'll be canonically stuck in Hell forever, as well. :(

Kotori from X/1999, and Himawari from xxxHolic. I remember everyone else in their respective fandoms hating them/ignoring their existence.
