Actually, Arakawa pretty much came right out and said that the only reason they weren't married already was because of military regulations. So they're together, just not married.

Barnaby is probably my overall favorite character, which is funny, because I spent the first half of the series going BARNABY JUST LET HIM HELP YOU (then again, the second half was KOTETSU JUST TELL HIM THE TRUTH, so maybe that outweighed the first parts?) Kotetsu is probably my favorite character type though because he actually has a lot of relate-able struggles while still managing to be awesome. If I had to rank characters, it would probably be Barnaby, Kotetsu, and then Sky High as my top favs. :)

I loved how clever the premise was, and just how much the creators hid in the background! I love that the background profiles for criminals and such were readable, and that the heroes seemed to represent multiple nations! I just thought the entire thing was handled so well, and it made my little bonus-feature-seeking-geek heart so happy. XD

Lol, that video. My favorite videos so far are these two, the first because it's funny and the second because it's AMAZING.

I certainly hope the movies will make the fandom boom, or at least wake up. :) Also, I really, really want the DVDs to be released already--it would probably help a lot. As it is, I'm just going to be writing fic and posting it...somewhere.

I enjoyed this and I don't even know why. I like Loki. Nice writing. ='D

idk. I think I'd have a mental breakdown too if the person I love died horribly.

Losing the will to live is a bit much, but hell it WAS a mental breakdown. There's no saying she wouldn't have moved on once she had cleared her head.

So is codependency the new buzzword that people throw around without actually knowing what it really means? Because it sure seems like it.

Yes.

I didn't like the 'Owen ran off' thing either, despite not wanting the two to be together. It reeked of drama and angst simply for the purpose of breaking the two up - THEN THEY WENT AND GOT BACK TOGETHER ANYWAY. Like...if they were really going to go that route, they shouldn't have gotten Jane and Owen back together imo. Owen's excuse was shit too, and the whole engagement was so rushed in the first place; I could barely believe in one episode he went from 'I don't believe in marriage, lol' to 'Jane, marry me?' The fuck?

See, I actually believe Grayson should love Jane for Jane too, but I think he already does. He's just an idiot and it took him a long ass time to realize that, and the show is terrible at expressing it. So Luke's reasoning just came off as more 'I want to ruin your happiness' more than 'I'm looking out for your best interests'. Agreed about too many plot points. I'm crossing my fingers that the finale is good and that if the show is renewed, next season will be different.

Feel free to point me to all this wolfy porn cause I seriously think I've read it all. Actually I really take any fic in this fandom it just seems so sparse all the time.

yeah... you could definitely argue that, and I wouldn't fight it. But Scott is definitely the protagonist. And Stiles gets to say what the audience is thinking exactly *because* he isn't the main character-- his character is granted the audacity that "everyman" Scott can't have.

Sure, but point remains, they were shown at the end as comrades but not shown romantically.

Wait, really? Isn't that also Molly Ringwald's crush in 16 Candles? Awkward.

May/December romances are some of my favorite ships too. I think it just adds an interesting dynamic to characters that already have some fascinating issues (in my fandoms, at least, there are always issues, lol). It's often about revitalizing the older partner and bringing the younger one down to earth a bit. It's just plain enjoyable for those of us that still like old-fashioned romances and happy endings too, often enough. All about what your cup of tea is though, obviously, but basically - I hear ya, OP.

This times a billion. I went running from Gallifrey Bases ages ago.

Well, opinions may be divided on the companions (I personally like 'em) but 11 really is great. Matt Smith is an amazing actor, and for me he does the balance of ancient and childlike the best out of the recent Doctors. Watching him do stuff is a genuine pleasure. XD

Your icon! ♥

Everyone other than Kotetsu and Barnaby did get wayyyyy less screen time, but I figured that was normal since those two are the main characters, and that tends to be the way of anime. (And most series' in general, tbh.)

I was pleased that most the secondary characters got their own episodes though, so they weren't completely ignored! It was also neat how even when they weren't focused on, you could still pick things up about their relationships and personalities.

And Kotetsu is just freaking adorable. I want a Kotetsu.

yeah same. And when I end up in a fandom that seems to be predominately made up of people around my age I don't even know how to deal :p

New? Codependent No More came out in the 1980s, so it's totally retro now even though it lacks the old-timey charm of neurasthenia and dipsomania.

^Also: bonus points for angst, Tragic Hero, or Stoic/Iron Woobiedom. Or if the hero/es manage to cream the villains against totally improbable odds, with crappy action sequences (think BSG original series).

I always thought Ravenclaw since he's a smarty, but Slytherin would work too. Even Gryffindor! I can't see him as a Puff at all tbh.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-09 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
I want them to have equal success too. I love them both. I was so excited when I saw Richard in the trailer and that's why I saw the movie. It wasn't bad. I laughed a few times.

And if you're ashamed that Jonah Hill was funny in the trailer, how do you think I felt when he was one of the funniest parts of the movie? Ugh, I used to hate him so much but either he's switched his game up a bit or he's worn me down because I really did like him in this movie.
