*sighs* Yeah, right, whatever.

I'm so tired of arguing about it. I feel that what 6A is doing is stupid and does absolutely nothing to protect real children. Especially when they're perfectly willing to let pro-ana groups and groups advocating 'bibilical methods of child-rearing' (read- beating children with sticks) continue unbothered.

Not to mention, the new clarifications seem to point to an eventual blanket rejection of ANY portrayal, fic or otherwise, of anything sexual involving anyone under the age of 18. Just to point out the ridiculousness of this-- I'm in Buffy fandom. Our canon, shown on NETWORK TELEVISION, involves an underage girl (Buffy) having sex with an older man (Angel). She was 17, yes, age of consent in California at the time. By these new policies, however, no one can write fic about something shown on network television in prime time. Fine, whatever. I've even gone so far as to go back in my LJ and remove anything that could violate this policy, stupid as it is. I just hate that they have my money, changed policies on me, and I can't get my money back. I feel cheated. I feel screwed.

6) I'm a hardcore (and very rare) EdxWinry fan... so maybe this is biased, but... I kinda saw that pairing coming a mile away in manga canon. Anime canon is a whole different ballgame, of course.

No, I saw the EdxWin coming in the manga. Anime canon is definitely it's own ballgame... you can sort of ship anyone together.

7. Obviously 6A is just trying to play it safe and cover their asses legally (though I still find it mind boggling that this issue has not come up until now, lol), but the way they are going about enforcing these new rules are just all kinds of wrong.

It doesn't take a lawyer to realize that the child exploitation laws in the U.S. are in reference to real children being photographed and filmed, not homo slash fanart. How hilarious that these were the first "pedos" banned. :P

12. I only read Holic in the hopes that there will be more blatant subtext between Watanuki and Doumeki. Otherwise I find the story to be rather boring. I wish Clamp would stop frolicking through the snoozefest of TRC and fucking finish Gohou Drug.

Late to the party, here, but I just wanted to mention that someone, somewhere, is getting off on the quicksand scene in The Princess Bride. Because everything is fetishable. Rule 34 and all that.

Some people are turned on by pretty shots of HANDS, so I guess we should ban all those perfume ads that have hands hold the bottle, right? It's "pornographic" to some people. And those hands are actually real, so that makes it SO much worse than fanart.

And heck, all those teen magazines had better go too, considering most of the models are under the age of eighteen and therefore "children." Let's take down the Disney Channel while we're at it for having shows featuring children doing less-than-childlike things, because someone's getting off on the thought of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody twincest RIGHT NOW.

Seriously, if we were to go around getting rid of everything that someone could get off on, there would be nothing left. There's probably someone out there turned on by the way that secret is arranged, so I guess you should be banned right now without anyone warning you about it.

I'm definitely NOT into the sort of thing that got those artists banned--abuse survivor, hi--but even I can tell that slashy fanart of fictional characters isn't hurting or taking advantage of anyone except, maybe, those fictional characters. If it were something like a photomanipulation of two REAL people, that would be something else entirely. But it wasn't. Those pictures weren't even close to photorealistic.

Although, all that aside, I'm seriously not nearly as bothered by the banninations as by how they were handled--after Barak SAID that fandom wasn't going to be screwed with anymore, and that there WOULD be notice given prior to deletion in the future. It's underhanded and dirty, and I don't get how anyone can think THAT is okay.

I can understand LJ wanting the pictures taken down--even though I've been told they were apparently f-locked, which everyone was told would work as a failsafe to avoid bannination back during the original Strikethrough--but the fact that they had a "ban first and don't answer any questions until waaaaay later" approach to it is what bothers me the most, and that's what I really and truly disapprove of.

7- Well, that's what I think of shouta. I've made those arguments when they say 'it's not child porn!!' But I don't support deleting artists who draw...say...15 year old's or something. 16+ porn doesn't bother me. And a bit lower too. (plus, 16 is the legal age where I live.)

12- Fail. ._. Besides, the fandom doesn't bash Yuuko, I've never seen it. People tend to like her. (I personally ship the pairing and love Yuuko.)

11. I don't like Sasuke, but I think Yuri is a lot better than his Japanese VA. Noriaki Sugiyama's voice is way too deep for Sasuke (though I love him as Ishida), while Yuri's is only a little too deep, but his performance makes up for it. He seems like a cool guy-I'd love to meet him at a con!

11. Booed?? That's terrible... He puts a lot of feeling and thought into his voice acting. And he's a great guy, if what I've heard around the 'net is true...
