(Anonymous) 2012-10-28 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)Replace the comment with any show that has 6/7+ seasons and branch-off series, then. SPN. Buffy/Angel. Star Trek and on. That is a lot of time

(Anonymous) 2012-10-28 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)But if someone hasn't seen any episodes at all, ever -- not even one -- then that makes absolutely no sense. How do they know they even like the show?

(Anonymous) 2012-10-29 03:16 am (UTC)(link)I've read fanfics I love for series I *hate* before. (Twilight - I'm looking at you.)
Sometimes you really like the premise, but hate the execution. If enough people feel the same way there can be a lot of "fix it" fics which will have the premise but "do it better".

If the OP is enjoying themselves, though, I say go for it! I think I just prefer to do fandom differently is all.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-29 02:36 am (UTC)(link)(I personally find it pretty pointless to watch a live action show until I've read at least a few longish fics because, unless everybody has a different hair color, I can't keep the characters straight until I've gotten to know them via text.)
