22. Eh. Some people are just like that. In highschool, my art teacher, whom I liked very much, made it QUITE CLEAR he didn't regard anime or manga as 'real' art. Not only did he point this out in the syllabus, but when I would ask him for advice on a character drawing I was working on he would... well he would give it but there was a clear moment of "DO NOT WANT" That made me lose respect for him. If it's not one thing, it'll be another. Doing what you want despite the way people look at you for it is just part of life. YOU aren't ashamed of it, right? So don't worry about it.

7) Don't bother, Western fans have too big of an entitlement complex to listen.

Not that I think everybody who uses fanart in their icons has an entitlement complex. (When I scan doujinshi I've bought I'll sometimes make icons of it and offer them to friends.) Just the people who share fanart icons widely and demand credit for them, then get all riled up about OMG YOU ARE A DUMB WANKER BLAH BLAH I'M TOO COOL FOR THAT when people get annoyed.

8) You know, it kind of detracts from the point of big dramatic secrets like that when you use obscure images/don't identify the movie in question.

I go to art school, and actually major in sequential art, aka COMICK BOOKZ. In other words, I've taken my hobby a BIT far. It's a retardedly fun major, with a LOT of prideful brats who had to deal with being laughed at like that at some point - and although you'd think there would be a FEELING OF BROTHERLY LOVE between people who chose to draw comics, there is instead a TON of pride that keeps people from connecting because they want to be taken seriously. There are anime geeks who are looked down on by comic geeks, vice versa, comic geeks who look down on superhero geeks, AND of course anime geeks versus anime geeks. This doesn't change the fact that we're ALL RETARDEDLY DRAWING COMICS FOR A LIVING.

So, even if you are SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE OF LIKE MINDS, there will always be somebody who believes they are "better" than you because they are trying to validate or elevate themselves. The REAL question is, is there any basis, AT ALL, for that? If you work hard in your academic career and you have a hobby you enjoy, and you have good results from both of them, then you're the one on top. There's no reason to give up something that makes you happy just so friends who want to look down on something will take you more seriously, or whatever. SOMEBODY out there will always look down on you, so just do what you want! You'll be happier that way.

20. I wholeheartedly support saying nice things for no reason at all. Me and my friends do it all the time cus it's FUN. One of the best things about having friends is that you all be nice to eachother!

I can't stand people who dont understand what it's like to be insecure. it doesn't mean we're attention hogs or need to be told every day that we're cool. It just means even the tiniest amount of love can really make our day. I don't understand why its so weird to express affection. I love doing it.
