I read endless Twilight reviews utterly bashing the first book, and went into it completely prepared to hate it just as much. Boy, was I wrong (yes, I'm appalled at myself). Try out the book, quite possibly what other people had to say may not be the deciding factor in whether you like it anyway.

Maddox, really? I cannot believe that guy is still posting. I outgrew being vaguely amused by him so long ago that I somehow believed he would have outgrown it, too.

Anyway, that's exactly why I hate much of the mindset behind pick-up artist strategies. The reason anyone might find an asshole more appealing is because confidence/aggression trumps likeability in most parts of life. It is not a special quality in women, there is no shortage of straight guys who claim that, yet have at least one complete jackass of a buddy they would nonetheless take a bullet for and don't see the similarities between the two.

The first time I saw him was in Deathly Hallows and he was not only very young but also underage. If he'd been older when he started acting, I doubt I would feel the way I do about him.

To be fair, a lot of professional mangaka in japan don't really know anatomy either, they are just good at the manga style because they grew up with it and have an easier time copying it.

But this is something I see in a lot of comic/animation artists all over. There are a lot of people who are good at style mocking to the point that they can create beautiful work without having learned the rules first.

It is really hard to create your own style if you don't know the rules though. I am constantly asked where my style came from and all I can do in response is shrug, because the answers are along the lines of "Struggle?"..."Take years of painting classes being mediocre at it?"..."Learn all the rules and only years later be capable of breaking them?"

Perhaps you're thinking of Gingetsu/Ran from Clover? I'd say they're not quite canon-lovers, though I love them. Less there than Fye/Kurogane, definitely. They live together and have a whole slew of commitments to each other, but there's no real "yes they are a couple". Because CLAMP.

I think it's spelled out that they are each other's Special Person or wtfever CLAMP euphemism you like. But what that means is super fuzzy. Even love and marriage are all over the place - I wouldn't say Hikaru canonically romantically loves Eagle AND Lantis AND all her friends, but she uses those words for them all in the manga.
