Everytime I hear 'Oh, I look similar to...' or 'oh, my facial features resemble...' I want to see a picture. And 99.9% of the time the person doesn't look at all like the person they claim to resemble.

Grow the fuck up and get a life of your own, instead of getting offended by people bitching about actors you don't even like.

I don't like her acting either but really, she's not ugly. If she's ugly then most women in the world must be hideous. I feel it's horrible how people's looks are so picked apart in Hollywood when there's no reason for it. And it's normally women who have to deal with this, though men get the treatment too. Critique their acting, sure, but not their face.

So, I guess I don't think you're overreacting. It's okay for things to upset you.

Lol I actually know how you feel a bit. I've been told on more than a few occasions that I look like her (especially if I make my hair wavy). I never knew how to take it, because she gets so much shit just for being in Twilight... but then I saw a thread about her on reddit, where guys just LOVE bragging about how much they hate Twilight, and they still talked about her being attractive, so... I'm taking it as a compliment.

I think she's a pretty terrible actress but I have nothing against her personally. I think she's rather pretty myself, so I definitely don't mind looking like her!

I don't think she's ugly. I just don't see the appeal. She looks washed out and tired all the time, even most of the times she's made up. She just looks sickly and I don't get why. So I don't find her attractive.

Most people I've heard are talking less about her actual face than about her ears and the fact that she constantly leaves her mouth open, which is pretty consistently considered an unattractive habit. That being said, I don't think she's overly attractive or a good actress, both of which are usually necessary for the roles she gets.

And you may just not be very attractive, OP, which is something you need to learn to deal with, probably starting by not comparing yourself to people in the public eye.

Also, she seems to be a cool person from what I've seen in interviews.

If it helps, I think she's pretty. Maybe not OMG MOST GORGEOUS WOMAN EVAR!!!!, but still good looking. I don't understand the hate she gets for her looks. Her acting, yeah, even her attitude if you don't like that kind of person, but not her looks.

I know she isn't ugly but I feel like she always wears *that* expression and I have trouble seeing past it, it's still not making her ugly but it's something. I mean, I hate being told to smile all the time so I don't expect that and it's not like she can rearrange her facial features so I wouldn't expect that either it's just...she looks so damned bored all the time? Maybe she is, who knows.

I wouldn't listen to anyone comparing you to her looks wise because in my experience people are usually saying it on a basic level, like you share the same sort of hair colour. Almost every famous woman I've been compared to I just don't see it. Like I get Zoey Deschanel sometimes and I just don't see it (and neither does my fiancé) beyond I have blue eyes, pale skin and dark hair, and she has blue eyes, pale skin and dark hair. It's silly.

She's pretty to me. Not extraordinarily beautiful or anything, but that's just my personal opinion. I know it can be hard to not take negative comments to heart, but honestly if its the criticism of KStew that bothers you...a lot of people just hate her period, and it has nothing to do with her looks. (Don't ask me why, though.)

That said, not everyone find her good looking, no, but no one is going to be universally accepted as attractive. It's not worth worrying too much about imo.

A few points.

Even if you share several features with Kristen, unless you are identical twins separated at birth, they are not calling you ugly. Javier Bardem and Jeffrey Dean Morgan look very much alike and I've heard many people say they can't tell them from one another or even that they thought the actors were the same person.. But I have heard equally as many people say that they prefer one of them to another or that they find one attractive and the other not. The combination of features that is unique to each face is important, not just how pretty they are on their own.

Not to mention, the way someone carries themselves matters a great deal. I find Kristen very pretty to look at in pictures - but when I saw Snow White, all I could notice were her teeth and mouth. I don't think her teeth are ~omg so ugly~ and she shouldn't be shamed for showing them, but at the same time, her mouth was very distracting and unappealing for me to look at because she almost never closes it. And on the other hand, some people look way better in motion, but photograph horribly. I don't know what it is for you, but I guarantee you, you and Kristen do not look the same to others. So stop projecting.

Finally, I don't see anyone judging her solely on appearance. They are either judging her appearance (which is something they are perfectly within their right to do) or acting talents, but I have never seen someone judge her as an actor because of her looks. How would that go, even? "She's a bad actress because she's ugly to look at"? From what I have seen it's either "she can't act" or "she's not that pretty" or both, but not a combination of them.

P.S. Another thing to consider is that although she's pretty, Kristen's features are rather common and not striking, so she doesn't stand out all that much among the other pretty 20-something thin and petite white actresses with dark hair. I think many of those mean comments about her were made in reaction to this particular movie and Twilight because they were trying to present her as this great "special" beauty. I can only speak for myself, but I see girls who are just as attractive as her and girls who I find far more beautiful every day in real life and I have seen SO MANY actresses who have the same type as her, so for me that was really laughable. Especially when the comparison was made between her and Charlize Theron.

I don't think she's ugly, but I def don't think she's pretty or anything special. And I agree that her looks shouldn't be brought up in a discussion specifically about her acting performance. Whether she can act and whether she is pretty are two different things.

I think actors should be judged by acting ability, too, but I make an exception for anyone in role that specifically calls for beauty. In Snow White and the Huntsman, my partner and I cringed every time someone in the movie referred to her beauty because she looks like a smacked-out whore in every scene.

People are sexist pieces of shit who expect actresses to always 100% be happy and smiling and shining and beautiful and never have a bad habit like leaving their mouth open or have dark circles under their eyes. Every time they are in public they must be completely perfect and put together, because society is horrible and fickle and hates women who do not fit its narrow definition of beauty. they are entitled to looking at only perfection, 100% of the time, and damn you for thinking otherwise.

That's why people call her ugly, even though she's not, and even though she should be criticized or praised for things that ACTUALLY matter. It's something all women have to deal with in all lines of work, and it's bullshit.

I used to feel that way about Kirsten Dunst when people would make fun of her crooked teeth, because my teeth are crooked in exactly the same way... but honestly I think it looks cute on her, so perhaps it looks cute on me too :V

My looks have frequently been compared to Kristen Stewart's, and the first person to do so was someone who had earlier that day told me that she looks like she's perpetually stoned.

Which means that every time someone has said this since (and it's happened a lot, IDGI, I don't see it?), I can't help but feel defensive. What, are you saying that I look stoned right now?

She's not in any way ugly. She's not even the worst actor I've come across. She just needs to learn to incorporate facial expressions into her acting. I can't understand why she decided that "I abuse botox" look is the way to go, but guessing from the rest of the lack jawed, blank looks that abound in Twilight, I think she might have been told it was sexy or something.

Just remember someone found her conventionally pretty enough to cast as the lead of a movie series. And Hollywood doesn't exactly have lax standards when it comes to this stuff.

They might consider you ugly, too, but so what? Even the most widely appealing beauty will find large numbers of people who consider them genuinely, non-trollingly unattractive. But Stewart does have her sincere fans (I'm one of them), so, probably, you do, too, or will.
