Unfortunately it works very, very differently for Japanese artists and some other Asia ones. Seriously. I got literally told by them one "can you tell all your friends to stop taking our images and posting them elsewhere/cropping and modifying them for their own use/using them in their layout". Whether you agere with it or not is a separate issue but it is like that.

10: Hahahaha, I completely agree. I understand what people are saying about commissions, but that is someone specifically asking you to draw character X for them. And I think a lot of people who want artist ___ to draw ___ from ____ know that that artist does art for that series. (Not the case all the time, of course, but usually) I watch a guy who draws a lot of Naruto stuff. And his commissions are Naruto characters or Naruto fan characters 90% of the time. There is another person who does pretty much only HP stuff... and the FMA person, and on and on.

I understand it's hard to make money on prints sometimes, but I don't think that excuses the fact that you try to make money off of a series you know nothing about. Selling prints is very borderline legal as it is. And, if the picture used is related, that makes this hilarious. She has a published series, and if someone made prints from her series, I think she would throw a tantrum. But it would be just like other people making prints from manga or anime series. What if they didn't even buy her books? Don't you think that is painful, having someone make money off of a series that they didn't help in any way?

8. I used to RP in Avoria. :D The mods ARE really awesome, I miss them. (And ewww, MPREG. D: I just left because of life and because there wasn't a lot going down in the comm. back then.)

10. It's annoying, but at the same time, an easy way to get money when you need it. I dunno, it's mixed water for me. I'd rather them NOT but... I do understand why some people do it. :/

17. I love you and agree 100%. D: It really annoys me when fans say a non-canon couple is OMG!CANON just because IN THEIR MIND, it is. Like House/ Wilson. ARE GUYS ALLOWED TO BE BEST FRIENDS ANYMORE?! Two guys who are best buds =/= GAY. >:/

19. I wish I could have had more fun at Anime Expo. I didn't enjoy it much the year I went.

I remember the invasion of ToA and how much I hated it, I even liked ToA once I played it but still hated it in the RP, and I'm happy to have left before the M-preg and will never return because of both. It used to be so much better.

Ummm, SoKai... I don't actually know KH or its fandom very well, but I'm pretty certain it's not canon as in they haven't kissed/made any declarations to each other's faces yet? XD I don't know, maybe I'm wrong about SoKai as well as having missed the whole last paragraph of the person's secret.

The other thing with MPREG is that it's a fetish. :/ It's not always for lolzcrack, it actually turns some people on. Like vore, etc.

OP for 19 here. Yeah, I do agree that I didn't have as much fun as the previous years (2004-2006), but overtime, I made some really great and supportive friends that actually loved me for the way I am, and I guess that's what matters to me. AX07 was horrible and I admit, poorly-run, but my friends made the experience worth it :]!

I actually went in 06, and I think what ruined it was the drama between my friends. XD; haha. But I'm not native to California so it's difficult to spend so much money going to a con like that anymore- so this year I went to Comic-Con is San Diego instead and had a blast. 8D

But yeah, usually friends can either make or break a con experience. And if you go alone, it's never as much fun- even though there's drama every year.

Mmmm, now we're getting into the semantics of canon. Me, I don't think a pairing is canon unless the parties involved are actually in a mutual romantic relationship. So I guess we just have differing views on when a ship is canon, then.

And as I said, though, my knowledge of KH is limited to talking with some friends, reading some comms and Wikipedia info, and some fics recced to me.

It's sad how a lot of yaoi fangirls forget that most series actually have... A STORY? D: And uh... the characters are supposed to support said story. Most anime aren't meant to be men orgys of ghei awesome lolz. :/ And it'd suck if they were.

I totally agree. I mean, I like yaoi, too, but I'm also smart enough to realize that all the characters are important and that the main focus of the story isn't how character X is going to get into character Y's pants.

It also sucks when the crazy insane yaoi fans have a story when it's like the main girl finds out their gay and then goes OMG BATSHIT!INSANE, especially when said main girl is actually pretty sweet and wouldn't give a rat's ass about sexual orientation.

I don't know. I know I wouldn't give a flying toaster if someone who drew an awesome fanart of a character I liked didn't know anything about the character. I'm buying it for the visual appeal, after all. They do a good job? They can have my money. It's an exchange of a service for money.
