I'll definitely keep this in mind. I don't want it to seem like I've been stalking the guy, though, because he already has these paranoid delusions about us "excluding him" from group work. When we're just not letting him make all the decisions?

But I guess this classmate throwing another tantrum in front of the professor might be just the thing to get the prof to separate us, so that might actually work.

Definitely will consider the email approach, and you're absolutely right about the professor maybe not being able to handle it well. I don't know this particular prof all that well, so I'm not sure what his tactics will be.

I'll bring this up to my other two group members and see if they think this could help us all in the long run.

I don't think you're horrible, it's just that the way you feel is not the norm (which is cool, but you were apparently not aware of this?) and you tried to apply your own experience to everyone, which doesn't really work, because most of us can't switch feelings/thoughts off at will.

I know what source your quoting and everything else I've seen out of it has been either vague, heavily implied or talked about already, or turned out to be false so I remain skeptical.

Still, that is fair enough and even if the source is completely false that doesn't mean that it wasn't all hasbros decision, corporate culture is very fragmented and can often involve contradictory decisions from multiple people at multiple levels of management, but as someone who has been involved with corporate decisions like this before, I find it is rarely as cut and dry as consumers like to think it is. Given the statement by Mrs. Faust (which was made in an interview that took place well before alicorn twilight was announced and after faust was out of the production loop so likely didn't see it coming) as well as previous setups throughout the first two seasons, I just don't see it as Hasbro forcing a decision that had never even entered the writers minds before now. If Applejack had become an alicorn then yes that would be much easier to believe as corporate meddling, Twilight seems more like something that was in the plans as a possibility and Hasbro more likely having a hand in its timing rather than its existance

Much more likely it was something that was put forth as a possibility with season 3 being the potential end of the show, and being given the go ahead as Hasbro began to plan expansions to it's toyline, especially considering that this year is the 30th anniversary since MLP's beginning I believe. In the end, I would say it was in part planned by both the writers and Hasbro with even Mrs. Faust putting it forward as a potential plot point back in the beginning.

I suppose this whole spiel comes off as nitpicky since I'm still admitting the possibility your right, but I suppose we will see what happens as season 4 comes out.

But yeah, outside of my stupid wish fulfillment headcanon, I'd like it better if she didn't have to pick one of them. I liked it when she said "You guys sort out your issues and we can all just be friends." I haven't watched recent webisodes or the latest movie but I was kind of ":\ yeah okay whatever" when Ghouls Rule seemed to be pushing her towards Holt.

Jackson/Holt arguing with eachother over their cell phone was awesome. It may just be a web cartoon about fashion dolls, but it's got some pretty clever ideas now and then.

I don't care how to make it work, considering their timelines. I just know it's a good idea and I like it.

As someone who agrees with all your complaints about Sherlock, may I recommend Elementary to you, anon? Because its a longer series, its pacing in terms of character development, plot and comic relief is a lot better than Sherlock's, and it also lacks a certain pomposity in its writing that really annoyed with Moffat/Gatiss. Also, being midway through series 1 of Elementary at the moment, you can already tell that it at least has the potential to tell a more sophisticated and emotionally satisfying story than Sherlock (which, again, is partly because of the time it has to tell its story).

Never feel like you shouldn't report someone's abusive behavior, especially if he's making you feel this way.

This guy needs to be reported, if not to the professor then to the department head, or the dean of students.

I have thought about volunteering. I mean, I'm in college and it's not like I can't talk to people at all, it's just this person was one of those friends, you know?

But yeah, i definitely gotta stop stalling on seeing what the volunteering or on-campus jobs are.

Christ Almighty. It's like Youtube comments come to life. I've got a guy who frequently lays threats and slurs on my videos and channel, and blocking him only leads him to coming back on a new username. He's been doing this for years. My crime? Telling him off when he was doing it to a friend -- who he also has continued to harass.

It was fun at the beginning, but now all the crazy tinhat stans made me die of second hand embarrassment.

And Klaine were so adorable, and then the writers fucked them up with the stupid cheating storyline.

I get the impression they are just friends,actually. And in Ghouls Rule, Jackson meets some normie kids, and one of them is this goth girl named Claire, and they seem to hit it off. And yes, she knows about Holt.

You know that totally IS the point of the show, right?

I agree with you that JKR needed to either flesh these things out more or else skip them entirely (skipping might've been the better choice - she doesn't seem to have a good handle on romance). I'm just saying that usually when you bring up what was specifically shown in the books as an argument against the pairing as written, fans of the canon pairing defend it by claiming that just because mutual happiness, love, and affection wasn't shown doesn't mean it didn't happen. But in the same breath, they strike down Remus/Sirius shippers by claiming that "nothing like that was ever shown in canon." It's one thing to speculate what might've been happening off screen, but they seem to believe that just because their speculation supports a canon ship, then their speculations must be canon, as well. But they're no more justified than any other speculation of non-canon events :/ That's why I'm annoyed at this whole idea that the limited POV of the books is why we got a limited view of what was going on - that only holds true in non-fiction. Fiction writers have control over what the audience knows, and when a writer can't support a ship they claim is happy and wonderful, that's just bad writing. Remus and Tonks just flat out weren't written well.

Yeah, that was funny. And poor Frankie playing messenger is just like, "Oh, God, why me...?"

Absurdly enough, my professor is also the head of graduate studies. I say absurd because he certainly has the power and pull to do something, but he's such a mild guy that I'm not sure he will.

If you can go en masse, definitely do so. Your professor may be mild, but he can't ignore it when a huge chunk of his class is complaining and upset and is seeing visible academic decline.

I'm from LA and we call them tumbleweeds here too. BUT! I have heard of Russian thistles! I watched the Ken Burns Dust Bowl thing last year and several of the people interviewed (children/teens in the Dust Bowl) called them that. So you might be on to something re: Okies and migrants.

Wands specifically can't be duplicated or made by anybody but a wand-maker, I'm pretty sure. But what always baffled me was there was the whole emphasis on the wand choosing the wizard (and Harry making things break when trying to use wands that didn't fit him), and then Ron has this random hand-me-down wand...? Why go through all that trouble of talking about wands needing to fit the wizard if you were just going to give wands to people willy-nilly? (And whose wand was it originally? o_O)
