IDK... I have seen a LOT of on-set photos that looked dreadful but were completely different in post-production after CGI editing. *still holding out hope*

The OC. I stopped watching sometime in the second season, skipped the third season completely. Came back once Marissa was dead and unexpectedly adored Taylor/Ryan and it's genuinely one of my favorite seasons of television ever.

I think House is the only show I loved, stopped watching, started watching again, loved (this was thanks largely to Anne Dudek and the Survivor-type storyline,) hated again, stopped watching again. I'm pretty good about pulling the plug on shows that piss me off or just plain bore me.

More mildly, I spent most of 30 Rock's third season sort of disliking Liz/Tina for reasons I could never put my finger on. I was terrified it would turn me off the show, which was one of my absolute favorites for the entirety of its run (other than the first few very shaky episodes) but just as mysteriously, come the fourth season, I loved Liz/Tina again just as much as ever, if not more than before.

That video is a glorious pit of genderfuck, as any video featuring David Bowie and Tilda Swinton ought to be.

The Everworld series by K.A. Applegate and Michael Grant. They're... somewhat patchy, let's put it that way, but more consistent than Animorphs in being a good mix of filler and actual content.

For me, I tend to be nervous about contacting people. I worry that it might be a bad time, or that I'm being annoying. And then once it feels like it's been too long since I've been in touch with them, I also feel increasingly guilty about not contacting them sooner, until eventually just thinking about them makes me feel sick with guilt and anxiety. And so I just don't even try because it feels too overwhelming. Sorry. :(

I always loved Tammy's books for that. I had already come by the concept of birth control by the time I read them but for a lot of people I have talked to it was a real "oh wait wow" moment.

...while I don't know much about moe shows so I can't comment on the content, (I could see the skepticsm to this secret being because moe are aimed at guys...maybe) it would bother me if people are saying the reason it's a troll secret is because "misandry doesn't exist".

I watched like the first half of the first season on CBS. Then I fell behind, intending to catch up, but it never happened, and I was SO FUCKING GLAD of that when I heard about the finale. My laziness SAVED ME for a change.

I think part of the appeal is seeing a woman in that situation who is the more "in charge" of the pair. Not, y'know, domineering or "the one who wears the pants, nudge nudge." Just that she's the one coming to the relationship with a little more life experience than he has, but also that she isn't seen as some kind of cougar.

I honestly can't think of another relationship I've seen like theirs.

That said, I'm ambivalent on the romance, but I love the relationship.

I think a good example is the movie Brother Bear. (Spoilers if you haven't seen it.)

There's this scene where the main character has to explain to the cub that he killed his mum. It's obviously a pretty serious scene - everything's dark and grim and serious, the bear is sad, the cub is nervous, and then...

Randy Fucking Newman starts bleating over the top of the entire scene with a SAD SONG about HOW SAD IT IS and OH THE BEARS ARE SAD and GOSH EVERYONE BE SO SAD!!!! This is instead of just letting the characters and their actors do the scene. It really obviously smacks of someone walking in mid production and going MAKE THIS SADDER. MORE SAD MUSIC.

Cheap, manipulative, and not even subtle. Also Randy Newman sucks. :I
