Wait, seriously? Why the hell would anybody want to do that? What do they think the purpose of the tags actually is? I guess they figure they don't want to "spoil the twist", but ugh, I hate that logic. Great, now I gotta look out for stealth pairings I despise because some authors are ridiculous.

OP didn't say Christian music, they said "Christian Radio," which from what I understand tends to be about 1% music and 99% radio evangelists sermonizing.

sjkdhad. I can probably help with this! I have been slowly readin through all the Star Trek Bones fanfiction on Ao3.

*looks thru bookmarks*

So...there are not that many Gen fics in Star Trek.
These two are short and have minor character death.

This one is longer and has one of those 5+1 things with everyone being friends (including Cupcake). http://archiveofourown.org/works/129068

Damn. Most of my fics are Kirk/McCoy or Spock/McCoy. Sorry :(

Sexy writing?

I am trying to write porn, but I just got to the first sex scene and kind of froze up. It's not as if I haven't done this before but I can't seem to get in the mood. Help? Please? Maybe we can make this a fantasy/kink sharing thread?

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Nah. It's just that a lot of the complaints I have with Tony/Loki are the same ones I have with Tony/Steve. I don't think we'd be on the same wavelength.

(I wasn't bashing or anything, I promise!)

I've lost almost 60lbs over the last 7 months (and I've only 50 more lbs to go until I reach my goal). I want everyone to know, but at the same time I don't anyone to know. I've told people the exact figure, but then I'm embarrassed that I had to lose 110lbs in the first place.

I guess I'm at a weight now that it's very noticeable that I'm thinner, so people have been commenting on how good I look. I don't want to be embarrassed by this because I love positive attention, but I don't want to be reminded that I didn't look good before.

I kind of hate when people ask how I did it too (eating right and exercising). I feel like people are looking for quick fixes and easy advice, but it was just a lot of sweat, tears and gnawing hunger to get to where I'm at.

i get that, but i don't see the point in going after someone who was probably very sick at heart and is now dead because of it.

of course it's sad that their kid was left alone; that compounds the tragedy, it doesn't negate it.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
ngl this sounds like the plot to some sort of horror movie

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
This is exactly how I feel, except I like Tony/Bruce and even Clint/Coulson; I just don't like it when they show up together, but I have zero luck finding fics without a) both of them or b) one of them combined with a pairing I can't stand.

I just want one pairing per fic. Is that so much to ask? :(

Okay. See, that's different than what I was thinking too. Yeah, "Christian radio" is not an appropriate station for a public bus.

If there are, I haven't seen them yet.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
I don't get the pairing either. Coulson is obviously in love with Steve. Notice that his breakup with his girlfriend (who moved to another state to get away from him) happened around the same time Steve woke up. That's just too much of a coincidence. Why isn't Coulson/Steve more popular?

At least they gave us an approximate time frame?

^ Yeah this is always what the actions struck me as. Really reminded of Triton in The Little Mermaid there actually, if only because he saw the fascination with the human world as incredibly dangerous too...

Maybe I'm weird for drawing that parallel too, but whatever. It's how I saw it.

Re: Major spoilers for "The Angels Take Manhattan"

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
No, I'm saying there was a reason why he was upset and lashing out. That was my point at the start of the thread. That he wasn't being a dick just to be a dick - which is why I didn't think it was all that bad to start with. I will have to watch the episode again to confirm but I'm not even sure about how much he actually lashed out.

Re: Sheltered fan rant

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you for putting it that way, that does give me another perspective on this. I mean, I was sort of grasping at this idea, but you put it so well and succinctly.

This may sound kind of stupid, but do you think there's a place to share the more extreme experiences in fan spaces, as relating through these creative media? Maybe constructively, in some way, so it doesn't just sound like a lot of bitching about experiences?

Re: Star Trek

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Well, one of the authors I used to track wrote a decent Scotty/Uhura fic, and a Sulu/Janice Rand fic. They're really good. :)

http://archiveofourown.org/works/332873

I couldn't find the Sulu/Janice one, but I'm pretty sure it's on livejournal somewhere? But here's an Uhura/Gaila one. :)

Seconding anon above me -- Steve/Coulson makes a lot more sense, but last time I looked, I found VERY few stories, and almost none with a rating higher than PG-13. :-/ Can anyone recommend some good (and preferably, smutty) Steve/Coulson fics?

Re: Major spoilers for "The Angels Take Manhattan"

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Also I'm sure if he'd stayed and the only option really was to break her wrist to get her free, this secret would probably still be about how he was a dick in this scene. So yeah, basically fucked either way.

Re: What fandoms are getting tired of?

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Mostly I just didn't like the first Thor movie, and I really, really don't like Loki. I'll probably go see it when it comes to theaters because I want to give it a fair chance, but the trailer didn't look promising, and I dread the possible Jane/Thor/Sif love triangle.

Re: What fandom related thing are you looking forward to?

[personal profile] elaminator 2013-05-08 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
It's a survival horror game by Naughty Dog for the PS3. (I'm a huge Uncharted fan so I'm super excited for it.)

But yayyyyy!

(Not sure if I've mentioned this before but that icon, omg. So beautiful. Makes me smile every time.)

Re: What fandoms are getting tired of?

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Fair enough (and I agree) but you said if Spock says it. I was just saying that it's completely canon that he does in fact say that, all fic problems aside.

Re: Those balls with duck feet.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-08 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
unfortunately all i can think of is those weird little fuzzy creature things people made with craft pompoms and googly eyes often with duck shaped feet with sticky undersides

gdi now this is bothering me too because i seem to vaguely remember something more specific like that but i don't know if it was just the pomspoms or not
