30. OH MAN. I never thought of that one before, but I do have a semi-secret skinny-Englund-Riddler/Scarecrow thing going on. So, uhhh, distant cousins in pairing? :D

...Now I want to ship Harley/Scarecrow, just because of this secret.

2. I guess it depends upon what sorta fandom you're into. And what you do in said fandom. It's not something I'd ever contemplated before, even though there's a pretty good chance I'll be a teacher someday...wonder if you can get fired if the school board finds out you write gay porn of cartoon characters?

14. That's so awesome. I wish I could send you a hug through the internets.

[identity profile] kristenell.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
It really does depend on what you do in fandom. Writing just slash probably wouldn't do it, but if you are getting into kinks (particularly if they involved underage characters) that won't look too good at all.

It is is just one of those things where you use discretion, as someone who is about to begin life as a teacher, it is something you have to think about. I think a person should be discrete, and really sort of think about how they participate in fandom. I mean I think you can do it, but you might not be as free to do the more outrageous kink stuff in full view or as openly as some other people do (yes it sucks, but teachers are held to a certain standard that is different from others)

Also there is just that concern generally with teacher's online presence and just being professional and smart about how you hold yourself in public. (And yes the internet is in a lot of ways is public.

Oh god, I can't agree with you more! But really, I've loved the series the whole way through, even AoD.

Despite the crazy-ass glitches, and the general "unfinishedness" of the whole thing, I still got invested in the story (and didn't mind Kurtis a whole lot. He was a pretty kickass character, as far as I'm concerened.) I don't think it was QUITE as bad as everyone says...

Of course, I think Legend was 2698349068236 times better (and just what the series needed). I haven't gotten very far in Anniversary yet, but I loooove what I've seen so far. It's all so nostalgic! :) I don't think I'll ever fall out-of-love with Lara.

17. Mark of the Succubus! ♥ It's surprisingly awesome for something with "Succubus" in the title, really.

34. Huh, I was in D.N.Angel fandom for a while and it never seemed tiny to me. But then, that must have been... oh, three or four years ago, so it might've died down, I guess, especially with the series on indefinite hiatus.

7 - Hey, c'mon, Vin's a nice package deal. Hot AND nerdy. It's good to have both! BOTH. HOYEAH. (I'm sad that Chuck Norris jokes caught on, rather than Vin Deisel jokes, though. :| )

10 - Wow, over entitlement much? There are heaps of people who liked Zack before AC and CC.

Also, the whole thing is kinda creepy.

7. Vin Diesel is the hottest BAMF on the planet. There is no need to be ashamed. *snuggles collection of Vin movies*

19. Hells yes! But it's so hard to find good fic of them. If you're aware of any, I can has rec? I think it would make everything very unbelievable if Robin were to suddenly say "I love you Slade, lolz!" and then be totally willing, because that's not his character at all. Definitely hotter (and more believable) as non-con.

22. LinkxZelda just feels weird to me, to be honest. As far as I'm aware, it's implied, not necessarily canon (correct me if I'm wrong), but it still feels too obvious. Now, LinkxSheik feels different to me, which is weird because they're technically the same person. But I get really annoyed with those people who are like "Sheik has girl parts! It's just Zelda in costume!" because Zelda really can completely flatten her chest and yadda yadda. Not buying it. I feel like Link and Zelda are somewhat like siblings. My head's weird like that. Anyway, I agree with you.

25. To each their own! I've read whole essays about the issue of V's manhood (yeah, I have that much free time), and logically, I suppose, he wouldn't be fully functional. But this is fanfic, jeez. It doesn't have to be perfectly scientific or whatever, and it's actually kind of a bummer when people take his macho away. D: So those people who said nasty things? They can headbutt a bullet.

LMAO 20 ♥ I WONDER TO THIS DAY WTH ZACK WAS DOING IN THAT ONE MOMENT

and 10 ilu ♥ he was my favorite character way way WAYYY before Crisis Core as well, and his smile breaks my heart. Your smile is just as meaningful I'm sure, just to different people. no telling what will strike someone and what won't.

3 and 9

3) First, kakairu finally gets a secret! ♥♥♥ Second,...yea, I would have to agree. Especially some Japanese doujinshi. They're either clichéd or OOC. But damn, the porn is hot. >///< Well written, IC fanfics are for the slow burning plots. I look at doujinshi for the pretty smex artwork. There's my secret. Ha.

9) Definitely watch the Dr.Who episodes he was in. There's not many but they're so good, they sprang a spin-off. After that, migrate back to Torchwood for some Jack/Ianto. Or Jack/Jack. Or Jack/everybody in time and space. ♥

I can't see Matt/Juan. Why can't bitter, hateful rivals be bitter, hateful rivals? Because some fans like to explore that particular dynamic.

It's all a matter of personal taste and perspective, not mental health.

[identity profile] atelierlune.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
How does one decide what is tl;dr? 98% of what people apologize for being tl;dr doesn't warrant it, imho.

Re: General

[identity profile] dr-ghost.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's just the interwebs getting lazy. A lot of the time I don't consider posts here tl;dr because hell, this isn't fandomwank or anything, but I think short and sharp commenters being lazy have made people (myself included) panic when they right more than just IAWTC.

Eastern Promises... Viggo Mortensen, jesus christ that movie was great. David Cronenberg likes to make everything erotic and grotesque, or disturbing and violent, any combination of those things. I think slashy and bloody was the point. :D

Re: 12

[identity profile] imouto.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
It was a good movie, but I felt so immature because I couldn't help but giggle throughout the whole naked fight scene. I think the whole theater was trying not to laugh, but when Viggo Mortensen stabbed the one guy in the eye, some lady screamed and the whole audience just cackled stupidly for the rest of the scene. XD;
