Hell yeah it is, except since we don't know what Cecil looks like at all, he could be white, black, hispanic, an Cthulu monster, etc. Though, most fandom draws Cecil as white.

I have seen absolutely nothing in regards to the Whispering Forest or the Eternal Scouts ceremony. The former is somewhat of a difficult concept to do anything with, but still.

We don't know if Cecil is white, black, Hispanic or some eldritch horror from beyond time and space, so calling this an interracial pairing isn't really correct.

I enjoy the canon gay interracial pairing too, but sometimes I wish people would give some of their attention to some of the other things happening in town. The fanart and story possibilities abound. My favorites are the Angels. Though I like that there is no stigma around it, in fandom or in universe.

Well...I do enjoy that it's canon [though from what I've seen it seems like it could easily be one sided], and seemingly accepted...I agree OP. Most of what I've seen is very Cecil/Carlos and ignores the awesome world that seems like it'd be a ton of fun to explore.

Am I the only one who wishes this had a different narrator?

I mean Cecil certainly grew on me, but he sounds too much like he's reading a script. I was expecting something that sounded less fifties monster movie and more talk radio.

My previous head canon was Twin Peaks Ira Glass.

I like this show, but ugh, the fandom annoys me so much. Everyone's so eager to pat themselves on the back for shipping an interracial queer couple, it comes off as horribly condescending. And I say this as part of an interracial queer couple.

Yeaah. I've only heard 'till episode 20, and while Cecil's fannish attraction towards Carlos is creepily cute (more cutely creepy, tho, but I've been spoilered that apparently Carlos likes it so), I'm much more interested in the hooded figures and Desert Bluffs. I really need more Desert Bluffs.

I have a lot of artwork on my tumblr without Cecil or Carlos. Mostly it's of Dana the Intern, Tamika Flynn, and Old Woman Josie. (I have a lot of Cecil and Carlos too, but it's not just them.)

Just last night I read a great one shot fic about Tamika Flynn and her adventure in the library.

Eh? I see this complaint going around sometimes and I kind of see it but on t'other hand - I'm a queer SF fan and canon queer relationships in a genre I actually enjoy are really fucking rare. Canonically queer relationships involving POC are even rarer. As are queer characters that have arcs focused on things other than ~gay issues~. Off the top of my head I can't think of any other couples that check all of thoses boxes.

Cecil and Carlos are kind of a big deal.
